I like them better now too because they are more straightforward. However, at first I was like, "Great. I've read the entire book. I still don't know who Merry is."
Once upon a time Anita was a strong individual. Now she is a melting pot of creatures and emotions.

I have to say, and this will sound bad but I was talking with one of my besties today, we don't think she's really into BDSM at all. We just don't buy it. We think she's just playing at it and mostly has no real understanding of it.
Okay, I'm confused... WHO is not into BDSM? Because Laurell K. sure is.
And I can't believe you didn't tell me you were coming to DragonCon, FF! It's not like I wasn't posting for the last 6 months over on FL... And I went to the FL meet up at Trader Vic's and all...

So tell me more about how into it Laurell K is because she seems like a poser to me.

I've had the opportunity to speak with her several times at her Dragon*Con appearances over the years, and she was pretty obvious if not actually out when she was there in '08. Seriously. Very obvious poly situation with her then fiance (now husband), and her boy, and it was very clear to read that she was in charge.
This year she was OUT. Totally, completely out. Introduced her husband, and their 2 male and 2 female poly partners as her "family of choice", and again, it was very clear that she was the Queen of that family. She got started doing the online research like so many others, got talked into meeting a Dominant to go to a dungeon for a first hand look, and holy smokes, she found where she belonged. She started on the bottom side and grew into the Top side.
I've been doing this long enough to smell poser on someone if I get to talk with them a while, and there ain't a whiff of it coming off of her (or any of the entourage). They (all of 'em) live it. Yeah, there's a heavy Goth influence going on, but she's got some depth to her, she ain't just into slap and tickle bedroom games, nor is her SM "Stand & Model" (even though one of her boys said "My job is to stand here and look good." *LOL*).
She has a working D/s/kinky/poly family. What she writes tows the SSC party line because she understands that for people that have no clue, they probably ought to start on the more cautious, safety conscious end of the spectrum than the "Oh hell, no limits, cut my nutsack open and play with my balls" anything goes end.
So in my experienced, considered opinion, no, she's not a poser.
