It appears the only complication is if you want to keep them throughout breastfeeding, in which case it's suggested that you remove the jewelry during feedings because of potential infection risk. But there's no issue with milk production, and in fact, some people think it actual helps increase the flow.

Hey everyone Thanks for all of your lovely comments.

I'm considering getting my nipples pierced, but I'm not sure if it'll cause complications down the road when I have kid(s) since I would like to breast feed, so I'm sort of on the fence about it. I've been thinking about it since I was like 16 lol but once upon a time I had my lip pierced and hyperventilated the first time I tried to get it done, and then ended up getting it and taking it out about a week later. Piercings bother me, tattoos don't. Lord only knows why. But, we'll see, and I'm sure if I get my nipples done you guys will be among the first to know.
