I've spent the last five minutes sitting here trying to think of how to start this personal ad. Isn't the idea of a personal ad rather akin to posting a cover letter on a resume to a potential employer? It only serves to highlight the positive points and accomplishments of the job-seeker, not to give an idea of the whole person. I'm not sure how I feel about that, but I think that giving some idea of my whole self is a good and respectful thing, particularly when the reader still has the chance to make up his or her mind about me.
I'm a young twenty-something quasi-professional. I have a job and I enjoy it some days, but most days it's "just a paycheck," as they say. My true passions lie in the finer things: horseback riding, cooking (and food in general), words and the acts of consuming and making them, and perfume. Yes, perfume. I have a tendency to be very loyal, although if I find a person not up to my standards, I have no trouble being direct with them and ending my acquaintance. My standards for online friends and playmates are higher than my standards for my real life social circle, although the two can (and sometimes have) overlap.
