Hopefully this audio isn’t too boring but I was excited about my AncestryDNA results!

My results have changed in the 6 months that I got them. I got a notice saying that as they expand their testing areas and more people submit their info, it can change. It changed A LOT.

I started at 72% England, Wales & Northwestern Europe.
This newest update put me at 28%

Thats a big difference!! Holy moly lol

I wish it broke it down a little more specific though, like what areas within those regions but its still cool!

and I had a ton of third cousins pop up on there and quite a few 2nd cousins as well

I had a half Sister pop up. LOL

This is my break down. The top is what I got first... Then just this last week, logging in and seeing the changes. The bottom is the newest break down.

Did you know you possibly had half-siblings somewhere??? That would be quite a shock for me lol

I think it's neat that in your newer results they broke out Ireland and Scotland instead of lumping them together and got more specific with your Scottish percentage

I really need to do some research into family history. My dad's side is really basic, 95% of his ancestors were/are in the Iranian/Persian area but my mom's side is really hard to track because there was so much bad blood and grandparents/great grandparents disowned or cut ties with their offspring

My MIL is huge into family history, last year she traced her parentage and roots down so she could join the DAR  she ended up tracing family back to the Mayflower lol

I need to set her to work on my side of the family lol

Well I grew up an only child. But about 11 ish years ago, I found out I had a half brother. My Dad was still alive So I was able to confront him. He admitted to an affair.. My brother and I are super close now and he's the best thing to ever happen to me.
So when my Sister popped up. I hadn't done the DNA thing yet. She found my Aunt and my Brother.
So I guess after knowing of a brother. I wasn't too shocked.
This one is older than me. So at least it wasn't an affair. She was before my Mom.
It's still a fairly new situation.
But I finally did the DNA thing. Just to see who ever else popped up lol

The more people who submit DNA, the easier it is to break down regions.

Several years ago, things were lumped together more...I love being able to get a better view of it now.
