Let's hear your voice!

I think recent events have not exactly shown Brits in a much better light...
That said, I'm 100% serious. That's the root of the word. Honest.

Except controversy dates back to a different century than either Napoleon or Treaty of Versailles.
I’ll happily take some research though, if you provide it.

Truth, though, is that Pittsburgh has a suburb called Versailles that they pronounce Versales. It’s maddening.

ETA maybe you discuss it but I haven’t listened to either of you. Oops. But I do traditionally enjoy how much more of a Philly accent Base has than I do.

I sincerely hope nobody took our insane ramblings as having any basis of fact. Well, except for the part about Boris being an actual plant (the hair doesn't help).

But I'm not from Philly, I'm not far a way, but look a little north

Whoa now! I very much want people to take my ramblings seriously. It's much funnier that way.

I know you’re not. But it’s definitely a thicker accent than mine. It’s just funny!

I'm fascinated by accents and the way people speak, it's just super interesting to me.

Other than a couple of words which are stressed; when I think about the NY/Northeast accent, it's the cadence and tone of voice that defines it.

I don't encounter too many people who sound like they're in a movie playing a mobster from 1950s Brooklyn

Not that you encounter him, but Fauci does

Sorry, I’ve been reminded that I wasn’t born in Russia. And also reminded that even in that country, we weren’t citizens. 🤷🏻*♀️

Well my family has the same story there.

Not to mention the uselessness of trying to apply modern borders to the land between Berlin and Moscow when examining the past.
