Let's not forget there's good news in the colorful, diverse, awesome, queer world

There is lots of beauty in the spirit of this woman writing this piece, also a touch of sadness.
I very much related as she spoke of being trans or queer in a isolated place, I find value in knowing how others survive when community isn't always easy to find.
This woman is a good writer. She captures much of rural MAGA America as it exists today. And, she points out that when control freaks push for a homogenous society, one of the most revolutionary and courageous things you can do is be your genuine self.

I do worry about her being able to maintain security and wellness in that environment.

I get this! When I hear of, or read about folks on the spectrum that live in parts of the country (world really) that are not at all welcoming to diversity, I fear for them.
That this woman lives truthfully an out where she is awesome, and I believe she is clearing a path for those coming behind her!

For many of us queer, trans, lesbian or gay people coming out can be almost an act of desperation.
I mean I had to finally become my hidden self to continue living.
And I'm thankful for whatever support I've had since!

I think this is good news, but you end up kinda punch drunk, huh?
Okay the United Nations has made this announcement

"The United Kingdom must ensure its ongoing review of statutory guidance under the Equality Act remains compatible with international human rights law and upholds equal protections for all transgender people and all women and girls, including transgender women, said UN experts* today.

“The present review represents an important opportunity for the United Kingdom to reaffirm its long-standing commitment to equality, dignity and the rule of law, and to ensure that the human rights of all are upheld in practice,” the experts said.

“Protecting the rights of transgender people is not in tension with protecting the rights of women, but can and should be achieved through coherent, evidence-based and proportionate approaches,” they said.

Hopefully the government takes action on these items
I guess the best we can hope is the government takes action on these item from the UN commission.
I'm curious what triggered the UNHRC to even send this out?
I wonder if a similar statement has been sent to D.C. and the corrupt admin in power there?
