Liberals in Panic!

Kind of like how true his promise was to keep lobbyists out of the administration?

By the way, another little problem:
Obama's Health Chief Pick Under Fire
Report says probe into former Sen. Tom Daschle's taxes reveals he received $220G from health care groups.

Kind of like Sec Treas. bringing in a lobbyist last week.

Such honesty.

Maybe the liberals should be panicking because their news media is actually reporting the corruption. They probably thought they had a free pass for four years, but thank God they seem to be doing their job for a change.

Now if we can get the media to report some truth about basic economics...

Even as I type the 'Messiah', is preaching to the faithful that it will take, "years". to 'fix' the economy, in the weekly Saturday word from on high.

Cut ten percent from the Defense Budget, but allocate funds for Abortion overseas and 'studies' on STD's, that make a lot of sense to anyone?

These attempts to 'tweak' the economy, Keynesian style have been shown to be abject failures in all previous attempts.

And, the hypocrisy continues with 'no lobbyists in my administration', political rhetoric only as lobbyists populate the new cabinet. And the jerks in the administration who somehow forgot to pay their income taxes for four years and more, just an oversight, eh? Sure...I got a bridge to sell you...(one that goes nowhere, by the way)

And all the 'usual suspects' here, (thas my term and I'm stickin' to it!)" are on their knees apologizing and saying the last eight years will take a long time to recover from, yeah, sure, apologize away and refuse to acknowledge the slide into socialism.

Recovery and employment could improve within days with an immediate reduction in confiscatory tax rates for both individuals and business at all levels. The stock market would make a thousand point jump and reassure investors that 'profit' is not a dirty word, but a return on invested capital, which in fact it is.

Thus the 'doom and gloom' and glum aspect for the future is a product of a democrat congress for the last two years that continues with the rhetoric coming out of the nation's capitol.

I'm picking the Cinderella, 'underdog' Cardinals, looking forwards to Mondays and "24" and anxious for the new NASCAR season to begin in two weeks, Jack kicks ass and Edwards and Logano are gonna run over people...doncha jus love it!

Amicus...:)) (...you are now free to smile across the country)
Uh Ami, Edwards and Logano are going to have to get past Jr. and Smoke :D

As for the rest, Pelosi looks clueless and Reed still needs to grow a pair.

AMICUS

If money didnt exist, and people traded stuff for stuff, the Depression would be simple to fix: Everybody start making stuff that other people want, and trade.

But we're hog tied with confiscatory taxes, legal usery, and laws that make it illegal to compete with Special Interests (who pay politicians for the laws). We have this Depression because we got greedy, ate our seed, drank the water for priming the pump, and paid no attention to politicians picking our pockets.

Even Dem Senators are questioning the glorified pork bill :D
Looks like support is starting to fall apart. Just need the Reps to keep highlighting the things that have nothing to do with jobs this year. :D

Well, it's only been 12 days.

'Tis a shame that Bush didn't do dick for jobs the past eight years.

What'll happen is they'll send a Predator unmanned drone over to blow you to kingdom come and your rebellion will come to an ignoble and most likely unobserved (by the public at large) end.

Do you actually mean to say that the Obama administration will violently stifle dissent?

Notice how the Dems and especially the far left ones are the ones who scream about gun control?
Wonder if it's because their policies are the ones that inspire armed rebellion :D

Have you ever heard me say anything in favor of gun control?

Oops...guess your blanket statement is wrong, then, isn't it?

The statement was general, not specific.
You couldn't serve in the Obama Administration, one of the vetting questions was "have you ever owned a gun?" :D
That should give you a hint about his real stance on the issue.

You know what? A grown up realizes that no candidate is ever going to have the same identical beliefs as you do. A grown up decides which are the most important and votes that way.

Liberals in panic? From where I stand right now looks like the Conservatives have shafted us all and now they want to blame the Liberals? Weird.

"What's the Plan?"

CNN discussion group, thas the title of the hour long event and, as said by another, somewhat restores faith in the Media, as they are finally asking the hard questions that should have been asked during the campaign.

The 'stimulus plan', is now being referred as the, 'spending plan', the proper nomeclature, as very little in the 'experiment', is designed to stimulate job creation or capital expansion.

It seems clear, in Tofler verbiage, that the new administration is firmly rooted in, "Second Wave", economic thinking in trying to revive the deceased and diseased industrial base of heavy manufacturing in the Great Lakes region.

A friend I refer to from time to time, a Nuclear Engineer, just purchased two 1.5Terrabyte hard=drives as back up for his dual core machine....guess where they were made?

Thailand. $130.00 each, hell, I paid $250.00 for a single 120 Gig hard drive not that long ago.

The new administration, beholden to organized labor and locked into mid 20th century economic theory, JM Keynes, is destined to fail because they simply do not comprehend even basic level economics.

Wasn't there an old fable about the Goose and the Golden Eggs? Perceive business and industry as the Goose and prosperity as the Golden Eggs. This silly assed administration doesn't want to kill the goose, just put it in jail on bread and water.

Wanna guess the outcome of that?

:)

(at least my posts are entertaining, eh?)

Amicunt said his rebellion would be about the use of force. Are you dumb enough to believe the Government won't respond with the use of force?

Yes and no. If it's a full-scale revolution, they would need a lot more than one predator drone, and they would probably be illegal to use anyhow. If one drone would be enough to stop it cold, they would use a small force of National Guard, to avoid noncombatant injuries.

Oh, ami.

It took a long time to get our country this fucked up.

It'll take some time to dig out of the mess.

Kind of like Jared from Subway, and how long it took him to lose all that excess weight.

Just bought two footlongs from Subway, just this afternoon, wonder if that will help?

Have the film, "Tortilla Soup" on in the background, just for the music...wonder how the director and music director coordinate the film action with the rhythm? Must be a fun job, prolly done by a Liberal wearing Plaid, y'think?

Then, just the other night, typing away, I heard a very familiar voice, that of a very young Hector Elizondro from a film about the wife of the Sundance kid, or Butch Cassidy, played by Katherine Ross...what a lovely lady...

I still like Liberals in Moscow, but only now...they would have been in jail before.

ahem...

If it's a full scale revolution, that is to say, if it goes beyond Amicunt's keyboard and beyond him standing outside shaking his copy of "Atlas Shrugged" at the Socialist sky (free oxygen for everyone, get it?), then you're right, it would need more than one predator drone. It would require a large number of Americans joining forces to put him down.

History has shown that we can muster the forces necessary to put the likes of Amicunt and all his compadres down like the sick dogs that they are. We can, and we already have. We fought his kind in 1860 and our Generals burned his people and their homes down to ashes all the way to Atlanta. And if Amicunt and his imaginary army becomes un-imaginary, we will put them down again. Do not underestimate the willingness and ability of Liberals to sneak a nuke into Right wing Rebel territory and put an end to their little crusade forever.

The last time we put Amicunt's kind down and they remained poor and downtrodden for a hundred years. I guess the lesson was not properly taught to his kind the first time?

Not every Southerner was Scarlett O'Hara, dear.

My ancestor ended the war with $50,000 in US Currency and 3 plantations. The average American earned about $125 a year in 1865, so 50K was a ton of money.

Another interesting factoid is Union casualties. Robert E. Lee killed more Union boys in the last year of the war than he did in the first 3 years of the conflict. The Army of Northern Virginia was a killing machine, and at the end Lincoln had to use blacks and Irish immigrants to fill his army.

One of the reasons for the heavy Union losses in the last year, compared to earlier was that the earlier Union commanders, especially McClellan, were afraid to fight. Grant, on the other hand, was willing to incur casualties in order to win battles.

Correct. Grant had a massive advantage in numbers, and quite deliberately played a game of attrition with the Army of Northern Virgina. An effective one.

It wasn't just the caution of Meade and McClellan, though. Those times were punctuated with idiots who thought a direct assault on an entrenched enemy was a good idea. (Burnside)

Hooker wasn't that bad. Chancellorsville makes him look that way, but probably would have worked if Stoneman had did his job with the calvary... or if someone would have been smart enough not to listen to the General while he was concussed from a near-miss with a cannonballl and just put Couch in charge anyway.

Everyone in this country should be in a panic -- or at least deeply concerned. We are in very deep yogurt and the way out is not that obvious.

The "free market" economics of the Bush era have collapsed -- mostly because of executive greed and excessive concern for short term profits. It was corportate myopia that induced our business leaders to ship all of our production overseas. Cheaper in the short run -- but if there is no domestic production, eventually there is no money for domestic consumption -- and that eventual time has come.

The passion to reduce taxes and reduce spending has resulted in a terrible degradation of our infrastructure. We are faced with crumbling roads and bridges, leaky water systems, antiquated power grids. All this because the politician who lowered taxes won.

Most businesses go through a cycle of initial success, expansion, then, over expansion, loss of purpose, and collapse. A lot of our coroporations all seem to have hit the final phases at once. Look at how many store chains have over expanded. Look at how many corporations are in business to make money, period. And corporate loyalty? A thing of the past.

I don't even want to get started on how screwed up health care and higher education are -- those could take forever to unravel also.

So -- aside from the obvious problems with housing and the banks, we've just got a general mess on our hands.

Those are some of the reasons, but not the only ones. The toxic housing loans that lenders were forced, by government edict, to make are part of the problem, as are the high prices of fuel last year. Fannie and Freddie crashed over the first one, as did some insurance companies, because of the investments that turned sour, and some smaller banks or mortgage companies.

Getting ready to enjoy the Superbowl...oldest son called a few minutes ago, said he had his son on his lap and they were gonna root for the Steelers, I would too, if Terry Bradshaw was still at the helm, but going with the Cards as a sentimental favorite...then, on the heels of the call, got an email from youngest daughter asking who I was rooting for...no doubt she will take the opposite out of spite...or just to be different.

I mention that to begin a rebuttal to Box and WR, in the form of a concept concerning tradition and family, the essence of any system of the exchange of goods and services that does not include imposition of communal will on individuals.

Perhaps the most important government act, outside that of the Revolution itself, was the acquisition of the Lousiana Purchase, 54-40 or Fight, and the purchase of Alaska, we should have adopted Canada and Mexico to scourge the influence of the French and British to the North and the Spanish to the south.

America and Americans have a destiny and an obligation to carry on or follow through with the grand experiment of human individual freedom that came to full blossom on this continent.

This crisis will pass, as will this administration, and as an algebraic formula has but one 'right' solution, so too does America, the continuation of a free people and a free market.

There are lumps and bumps along the way...there always have been and always will be. Just as in family life, things do occasionally diverge from the basic principles, but eventually they return to basic values and so to will America.

The great heyday of Industrial capitalism are over and the transition to post modern America is like the birth of new era and birth is always difficult but worth the pain and effort.

To accomplish this transition, the schools must become modern and private, the infrastructure must take advantage, as other nations have, of different and faster means of transportation. Most of the delay in that transition is brought about by the mindset of Union advocates who act to limit the supply of Labor so as to increase or maintain the 'old ways', to the detriment of progress.

There were and are those who always......KICKOFF! time to go....
