life on the net

ROXANNE

The prominent philosopher J.A.MACON said, "Know thyself and keep the information to thyself."

'Above average children" ? Naaaah. I think SETI would have a challenge finding intelligent life here, if snapping gum and knuckle walking is the basement of intelligent life.
I don't agree, James. While I may think lots of people here may be misguided in certain areas, that does not mean they are not thoughtful or motivated by values that I fully share. AH really is different in some important ways. For example, you yourself could never find the same thoughtful engagement on such a broad array of issues and topics on most other websites; the level of discourse is just not that sophisticated. (It's hard not to sound like a snob saying things like that, but it's true!)

Its rare when posters here have the self discipline to contain their rage enough to discuss topics that deviate from 'socialism is great' and 'America eats shit.' Cursing and blathering and drooling isnt my idea of intelligence.

I mean, you can have a discussion about...say...dreams, and one of the usual suspects will assert that dreams are produced by leprechauns riding unicorns inside our skulls, and sanctioned by the Canadian Psychiatric Association. Then 90% of the membership agrees.

I have periods where all i do is surf the net all day, doing nothing in particular, refreshing my email, reading funny things, silly things most the time...

I have periods where i really cut down on certain online venues. I have left two previous forums- one for no reason at all. I check my facebook once in two months if that, unless someone tells me i need to see something...my email is ALWAYS open- i have all my email addresses routed there.

If it wasn't for lit i would not be the luckiest woman alive- i can't imagine how life would be if we hadn't met- i am most thankful to lit for that above all else. the day lit is no longer as much a part of my life, will be when im living my life with those who are the most important to me here, around me.

I could cut lit out entirely, if i wasnt so damn curious about what everyone was mooding and blurting amongst other stuff. technically most of the good friends i have on here, i also have other ways of being in touch.

oh and yeah, i've met 2 people from lit in person, and 2 from a previous forum in person.

I was dying to get online when i went to FL on holiday...first thing i did when we got home was get online. But luckily it wasnt as bad as it could have been as the people i most couldnt do without for the week were able to call me in my hotel :D

There's a possibility i might be going to India for 3 weeks, and i know i am going to be hell to be around, i wont be in touch with Misty, which will just really kill me if i do go.

This place is like Cheers Bar. Only there's a lot more lesbians here.

There are even lesbian spiders. They are still living on my picture rail.

It must be several generations since they first appeared.

I don't like to ask how they reproduce. Even spiders can have secrets.
