Life on the road ~ Closed ~

Evan felt the warm, soothing energy flow through him, it was gentle, calm, felt like a loving embrace. He opened his eyes and sat up to catch Takayla before she fell, he held her in his arms, he smiled as he felt the void in his heart seem to fill.

He held her for minutes and he laid back with her in his arms, he drifted to sleep and woke some time later to light filtering through the sun shades. He saw Harris and Ana and he first was freaked out, but remembered.

"Ana..."

He than looked to Takayla and saw how much they resembled each other. He stroked Takayla's soft fur and slipped from the table.

"Harris, prepare some food. Thank you Harris, thank you for being so loyal. Ana..."

He saw her ghostly form and he walked up to her, he raised his hand to her and tried to feel her face, but he could not.

"Why... why Ana... I was not worth you taking your life... you idiot."

He looked away from her. Ana shook her head.
Ana: "Evan... I did not know where they took you, I lost your scent, I thought you would come back to me... but you did not, until it was too late."

The ghost wept and Evan looked to her and than to Takayla. Evan shook his head and didn't know what happened.

Some deep down part of her mind she felt the comfort of his embrace surrounding her. For a time it felt as though it was the tiger, however, it didn't feel the same either. It was an embrace of a lover instead of an animalistic hug. Also the scent that filled her darkness wasn't the same either. Of course she knew the tiger was still near, she can feel the purring that vibrated through him. His scent mingled in with Evan as well, confusing her senses as she slept.

As she felt the embrace slip away and the loss of his heat, she curled up instinctively. The warmth of the morning sun told her how late she had slept in. Then strange voices had her ears twitching, not fully understand the words right away, only voices until she woke up more. A huge tiger nose nudged at her hands and then her face, making her giggle when seeing that he is okay now.

Hearing Evan say Ana a few times though made Taykala realize that she has no place here. They all say that they needed each other, but glancing at how he tried to touch Ana, the tone he used with her.... Taykala found that claim hard to believe. Truth is, she didn't know what to think of all this information, let alone, know how to react towards it all.

After a few minutes of laying there, adjusting to the light and reconfirming her surroundings, she finally sat up and stretched a little. Yesterday was filled with excitement that she hadn't realized until now that she lost a very special necklace and her hand reached up to her neck. Soon she began glancing around the area she is in, hoping it would be close by. Then she questioned to herself on how she was able to do what she did without it. That made her look down at her paws with confusion.

Evan looked at this mystical looking pedant, he knew it belonged to her. He held onto it till she woke up.

Later when she woke up, there was food for her and her tiger was already eating, Evan was petting the strong tiger as it ate, it would seem the tiger trusted him. Evan saw Takayla searchiing and he walked over to her from behind, he slipped the necklace on her.

"I found this, I know it is very important to you, I can feel the connection you have with it."

He smiled as he ran his hands over her shoulders.

"What now Takayla? Will you venture out? What will you do?"

He knew she would leave. He wanted her to stay with him.

When she couldn't find the amethyst pendant right away, she proceeded to stand up and right when she was about to back track all her steps, she felt him behind her. Following his hands she saw the pendant and couldn't breathe for a moment. At first the pendant looked like any other amethyst out there, one of the deeper purple stones. The moment it touched her, it pulsed a deep purple hue and in no time, the white spots on her fur became lively again. Going from a dull, lifeless white to a vibrant white as snow.

His question caught her off guard and she didn't know how to answer it yet. She knew her kind is still out there, they had to be... and yet, the hunters were out there as well.

"I do not know yet. I have no place here now that you have been reunited with them. I owe no debts to you. What is keeping here?"

She sighed softly and oddly hasn't moved, nor even flinched from the touch to her shoulders.

"May I stay a few days to think. It has been too much for me to process. I will stay out of your way, I will not to be a burden here. I just need to plan out a safe path, away from hunters."

When Evan heard those words come from her mouth, he hugged her. He truly did not want to see her go. He felt there was some connection between them, he did not understand it, but he saw Ana and she smiled when she saw him hug Takayla.

"Oh Takayla, thank you... being around you, makes me feel at ease, I know you do not wish to stay here and I will not force you. But..."

He let her go and he took a step back.

"I do wish you would not leave. It is dangerous out there, and there are many skilled hunters in this town. I just worry is all. I know you are skilled yourself, but... you know..."

He stood close to her, he could smell her scent, she had such a sweet scent to her.

"Takayla..."

He looked into her eyes.

Takayla was confused but smiled all the same when he spoke her name. For some reason she liked it with the sound of his voice,

"What will I do here? I know nothing of living like you do. I will never look like your kind and will always be hunted by them."

Her ears lowered briefly when glancing at Ana, then back at him lowering her eyes.

"I am also not her. If I stay, I am me... I will not play second best, nor become her. I want you..."

She paused a moment, realizing what she is saying must sound like a love confession of some kind. It is too late now though, words have already been spoken.

"When you look at me, I want you to see me... not her.."

She said that she wanted him... he looked to her and he smiled.

"Takayla..."

He took her into his arms again and held her close.

"Of course, you are Takayla, you will only be you, I would never ask for anything more. Ana... she was in the past, I would not let her do anything to you, and I would never hurt you."

He looked her in her beautiful eyes.

"There is so much we could do here, rebuild, start over. I can teach you, ask me anything, I am yours."

He had such joy in his voice and pouring from him heart.

"Takayla..."

He leaned in to kiss her than, slowly, not sure if she would accept him.

Before Takayla could give any kind of response, his lips landed on her own and her ears perked up in pure shock. There isn't enough words to describe the wild thoughts that flew in that moment. The initial shock didn't fade, although she couldn't find any real reason to pull away from him either.

Her heart pounded heavily in her chest as she slowly returned the kiss. She hadn't kissed anyone before and didn't quite know what to do with it. She didn't even know if she is responding to it correctly, only that it oddly felt good.... almost felt right. She couldn't break away from it, though all her nerves told her too.

She didn't know anything about him, only the visions that filled her dreams earlier. This feeling in her gut told her that this is right, despite the argument her mind had. Eventually that small argument faded as well while the kiss lingered a little longer than she intended, more than likely longer than he intended as well.

He has only kissed one other girl in his whole life, and it was Ana, when he was much younger. But here he was with Takayla, he put passion and desire into the kiss, she was much more than Ana, she was alive... she needed him. Evan kissed her more deeply, his tongue entering her mouth, finding her tongue, he loved how it felt against his, they danced together, fighting for who would lead who, Evan pulled away, a trail of spit between the two of them.

"Takayla... I want you."

His hands went to her breasts, her large rack, he fondled her, letting his hands grope her gently, he watched her.

"You can touch me if you want..."

He played with her nipples, feeling how turned on she was, he loved that he could turn her on. He kissed her again, this time kissing down to her neck, the smell of her fur was so sweet, he moaned into her neck as he lightly rolled her nipples between his fingers, tugging on them lightly.

Takayla was shocked beyond belief as he boldly groped her breasts and at first she wanted to pull away. Yet, her legs were not listening to her, in fact they grew weaker as he teased her nipples. It was one of those moments of flee or stay that raced through her. The small whimpers and motion of her body gave her away though and her legs refused to run from the touch.

Then he kissed her again and it made her dizzy with sensations she hadn't experienced before. Some deep voice kept telling her she isn't ready to mate yet, she barely knew this man. Also, he is human of all things. All of this is wrong and something that is against what she is raised to believe.

One the more irrational, pure emotional aspect of things, she couldn't find a way to deny that this felt right. Though she did take one one glance at Ana and Harris, blushing even more deeply than before as she hid her face against his neck.

"Can we... we do this more... privately... I have never mated before... I am... frightened with everyone watching us..."

She pressed up against him more as if trying to hide her aroused state, even her tail curled up between her legs only to feel the wetness between them. In reality she didn't know if she is truly ready to be mated or not, unsure of what to expect. Of course she knew how it works, but she has heard that it can be painful and she isn't certain of how her body would react towards it.

"I-I do not wish for my first time to be in front of prying eyes... not like this.."

Takayla trembled against him in a mixture of emotions, embarrassed by her body' reaction and aroused by his touched. Also, she knew they were the center of attention right now and even though they were ghosts, Takayla didn't want to be watched.

He looked to Takayla and smiled.

"Of course, I do not wish to do anything that you do not want to do. I am a gentleman of course. Come with me."

He took her soft paw and led her down a hallway, going through a few doorways and down a few more halls, just how big was this place? But Evan knew where he was going, memories flooded his mind and he had a big smile on his face. He led Takayla to outside, to be more exact a greenroom, it was like a small forest in this room... but when Evan blinked, it was all gone...

"Oh... this was one of my favorite places here in the manor, so many flowers, this huge tree... now its all gone... grass, the fragrance that was everywhere..."

He shook his head and walked to the tree and he hugged it, he looked to where his father had built a creek, dried up...

"I have to rebuild this."

He looked to Takayla, he took her into his arms again and held her close to him.

"You bring life to this place, your beauty."

He kissed her again.

She followed him through the many hallways and passed so many rooms that she began to wonder where he is going. She figured he would just take her into one of the rooms, perhaps his old one, or his parents and well... continue. Instead she kept quiet and admired a few things on the way, some pictures that were still on the walls, caked in dust along with everything else, but she can see the portraits all the same. Some were with him and Ana as kids and she had to smile seeing how happy they were at the time.

When he finally stopped in some forest like room, everything dead due to age and being unattended for so long, still had its beauty to it. It almost reminded her of the forest sleeping during the winters. Smiling while listening to him speak of the room and watching as he hugged the tree.

Takayla returned his kiss a bit more naturally this time, almost as if he is truly her mate.

"Close your eyes... No peeking either... In fact here..."

She turned him to face the door they came in from, waiting until he closed his eyes and made him promise not to peek.

"Wait here for a moment.. I won't take long I promise."

Takayla went to the same tree he hugged and smiled while placing a paw on the trunk and closed her eyes. It took a little longer than she expected it too, having to find to the faint heart of the tree, struggling to stay alive. Any longer and she wouldn't have been able to save it.

Placing the amethyst pendant at the base of the tree and dirt with a paw on each she mentally followed the roots and smiled as there is still some moisture in the ground. However she needed more than what is there, it is barely enough to wet the earth. She used the roots to search out the water supply within the house and any potential water that used to be in the creek. Eventually she found some usable water, using the roots to make tunnels underneath the ground as water flooded into them. She didn't know where the water actually came from, but to her it didn't matter and she saw that it was working. Leaving the amethyst on the ground for now as it pulsed with the trees life force, Takayla got up and went back to Evan.

"You can look now..."

She kissed him before he had a chance to turn around and look. He would see the tree coming back to life slowly. The process would take a little bit of time, yet the magic from her and the pendant is clearly working to bring life into the tree.

Evan did as he was asked, he turned around and kept his eyes closed, he wondered what she was up to. She wasn't really wearing any clothes, so her undressing was nothing to be shy about. But he soon felt her behind him and she turned him around and he felt her lips press against his, the way her lips felt pressed against his made him moan out, his tongue went to hers and he opened his eyes to see what she had done.

He stopped the kiss.

"What did you do..."

He blinked a few times, he looked to her and than back to the tree.

"Amazing... Takayla... you are amazing... a Goddess..."

He turned and hugged her, lifting her in the air and spinning around.

"Wow... how did you do this? Are you a Goddess, you have to be, Ana did not have powers like this... but you... you must be an Angel..."

He could not stop smiling.

"This is the start, we can make this place new again, if you would help me?"

He hugged her again, pressing himself into her large breasts.

"Thank you... Takayla... thank you so much. How can I ever repay you?"

He moved back and stared into her eyes, his hands again on her breasts.

Takayla laughed and shook her head.

"No, I am no Goddess. Those that raised me taught me how to use nature. It is difficult to explain. That pendant helps me to connect to nature."

She still didn't know how to feel with his hands groping her, it didn't feel natural to her since she didn't know him. She also couldn't deny that in some ways it did feel good. None the less, she blushed deeply and pulled away to go get her pendant off the ground once the tree was fully healed.

"Why do you wish to mate with me? What will you do if I disappoint you? Or afterwards? Will you discard me? Or sell me?"

She couldn't look at him as she brought her attention to the tree, trying to hide the embarrassment of those questions. There isn't any denying that she found him attractive in odd ways, he isn't her kind and there were strange features about him.

"I have never had a mate before. I do not know what to do, or how to pleasure a male. How does your kind do it? Will it hurt?"

He could not believe what he was hearing. He shook his head, he felt a bit insulted.

"Takayla, I would never discard you or even think of selling you. I know you do not know me or trust me, I understand that. I just felt that it was right, I apologize if I was too forward."

He looked to the tree and quickly climbed it. He looked down at her.

"You do what your heart and desires tell you to do. That is how you make love to the one you choose to mate with."

He lay on a large branch and he could not help but to sigh happily as he saw the green of the room returning.

Takayla watched him as he climbed the tree with ease while listening to him. The tone he carried told her that she had stung him with her questions, yet she didn't know any better either. His answers did ease some of her worries though and soon she climbed the tree after him. She laid across a branch just above the one he was on and she rolled onto her belly so she can face him.

"I did not mean to offend you. I am still learning about you... humans in general."

She sighed and rested her head against her paws as her tail lazily swished right above his legs.

"I do not know if I am ready to mate or not. Males of my kind get a bit aggressive when mating. And I grew up with many horrible stories about humans."

Takayla didn't really know what to say to make things better, if anything she felt as though she was making it worse. Closing her eyes to relax and feed off the energy the tree provided she spoke softly.

"It does feel right to be with you... I am just frighten is all."

He sighed when she said those words to him.

"Why must you judge me based off what others have done and what you have heard stories. I am not one of those, yes I do hunt, never for game, only to survive. I do not have much luxuries, I have to work hard, while those in the big city get it all served to them on a golden plate."

He put his knees up and laid his head on them.

"Just give me a chance Takayla, we do not have to mate, I just want to be close to you. My memories have returned to me, I do miss Ana, but she is gone, now its only you."

He sighed. He knew humans got a bad rap, but he was not like them.

"What can I do to ease your fear, I want you to be comfortable, not just for love, but so you can be at ease."

He waited for her response.

Just as she suspected, she did upset him and sadly, she could hardly blame him. Although, how is she suppose to know these things? With a heavy sigh she moved down to sit on branch with him and playfully nudged him as if it was nothing in some attempt to lighten the mood.

"I have never met a human before, you are the first. Please, forgive me. I cannot help being cautious, it is in my nature."

She shifted so her legs were swinging off to one side as she looked around the room. The other plants were slowly starting to heal and bring life back to the room. Even the dried up creek was trying to come back to life as droplets of water emerged and trailed down the rocks.

"It will take me sometime to calm down I am afraid. I just barely met you and even you have to admit, this is a lot to take in. Give me some time to process all this."

She paused for a moment and thought about his question some more, trying to think of the best way to answer him. Shaking her head and lowering her ears some as she watched some flowers blooming along the wall. It wasn't fair to him that she is acting like this, but she had a difficult time trying to figure out what he expected. That she would just instantly jump in his arms and fall in love with him? Granted there is some truth about how she is starting to feel about him, to deny that there is some attraction would be a lie.

"I do not fear you personally. I have heard what humans will do to get what they desire. How will you protect me from those hunters if they were to come back after me? The same thing that happened to you and Ana could happen to us. They can easily out number you and take me away if they truly desire to."

"I was a child than, I am a man now, and I will fight, I will kill them if they try and harm you."

He shook his head as he tried to stay calm, he saw the room coming back to life. He half smiled.

"Takayla, things have changed. There are many like you out in the public, there are at least four more like you in town."

He shook his head, he should said something earlier. It was true, it was not a rare thing her being here. Her color was rare though, like Ana, most were of the common color."

"There are more cat girls here than like you though."

He sighed.

"I am sorry, I know its a lot to take in, please... forgive me."

He looked to her, she could see how lonely he was in his eyes.

"I have to go..."

He left the branch quickly and ran back into the house, running to his bedroom.

She was taken aback by what he said and the tone he carried. She watched as he left in a hurry and for a moment thought about going after him. However, he was being just as unfair to her and clearly carried certain expectations that she isn't ready to meet. Not even that was a good enough excuse to keep her from chasing him down. What did stop her is the mere fact that she is too drained to keep defending herself. S

he did notice the look in his eyes and even that didn't seem fair. In her eyes she is just as a lone, if not lonelier consider she has no one. Hell, she doesn't even know where her own kind still exists in this world. He has to have friends, he has the two ghosts here that knew everything about him. What did she have? The color of her fur?

All the energy that went into healing him and the tiger earlier still hasn't fully recovered. Then to come in here to do what she did for him didn't help much. Now that she thinks about it, she has done all that for him and to make him happy and yet he grew angry towards her concerns. Beginning to question to herself if all humans were as finicky as this one is.

After a moment or two of considering her next move, she decided to remain in here and recharge while he calms down. The more she thought about it, the way he left gave her the impression he didn't want to be around her right then. In light of things, she touched one of the branches and soon the tree created a nice hammock for her a few feet off the ground. In no time Takayla curled up inside of it and after a few moments fell asleep.

The amulet glowed and pulsed with her very heartbeat as did the markings of her fur. The leaves that decorated the hammock were also pulsing a soft glow as it was the tree healing her.

Evan sat on the chair in his room, he sighed as his face was in his hands. He felt bad for how he acted, he acted like a child. Who was he to get impatient with her. He shook his head. He looked out the window and saw the green room. He smiled.

"Thank you Takayla... I wish you would trust me more... why not... do I seem like I am a bad guy?"

He looked himself in the mirror.

"Damn it..."

He sighed and didnt know what to do.

Takayla didn't know how long she truly slept but she woke up to a tigers nose nudging her face. She smiled and kissed his nose before stretching and sitting. She felt much better and her fur is more vibrant than when first arriving here. Even silkier than before as well.

It took her a moment to remember exactly where she is as she glanced around the now forest like room. She smiled to herself after seeing all the plants had healed, the creek flowing freely. Then frowned when noticing he wasn't here to enjoy it, recalling how he had left.

Her stomach growled in protest of not having enough to eat earlier. There was plenty of food before all this excitement started and she barely had a few bites. With a sigh, she went towards the creek and splashed some water on her face. A hot bath would have better, yet she didn't want to make any requests in fear of upsetting him again.

In the meantime she remained in the greenroom to admire all that it offered. Finding some fruit here and there to munch on. Eventually she would go snoop around, but there were too many lovely plants here to keep her distracted.

Harrison and Ana both observed what transpired between Evan and Takayla, they both saw the pain in Evan's eyes, Ana more than Harrison felt it, she followed Evan and Harrison stood by Takayla, out of sight.

Ana placed her ghostly hand on Evan's face and saw he looked up at him.

"Ana... Analiese... why, why won't she give me the time of day... you and her... you are the same..."

Ana looked to him and smiled as tears rolled from her ghostly eyes.

"No... my dear, sweet Evan... we are not the same, she is not my past life, we are of the same pack though. Evan, I know you are looking for someone to take my place, but she is not me..."

She slid her hand down his cheek, he could not feel it, but he needed to, so he tried. Ana floated away from him.

"Evan... Takayla, she will not listen to me, she will not even have me around her, I am sorry, I can try again, but I know she will not listen. Harrison... he is more powerful than I, he knows how to do things that I cannot."

Evan looked to her and wondered what that was about.

"Ana... what do you mean, what is he doing?"

He stood and he ran back to the green room.

Harrison laid out a tray of meat and fruit, that he used his own personal touch to. He used some strong aphrodisiac juices that were very sweet and untraceable. He grinned as he knew what would happen.

Takayla wasn't paying too much to her surroundings to know she is being watched. Typically she is more cautious than this and would feel those watching eyes on her. Here, she didn't seem to feel anything but the tiger, even then the tiger was off playing in the water paying no attention to her.

The fruits that she ate were delicious and yet, they weren't meat and were not filling what her body needed. After a few moments her ear twitched to the sound of a tray being sat down. She followed where she heard the sound, slightly hoping that it was Evan, though no one spoke. When she found the tray, there wasn't anyone in sight. Disappointed to not find Evan here, fearing that he is that upset with her still. And it seems as though the ghosts were upset with her too as neither one were around.

"It has only been a day and I've managed to get everyone upset with me. Nice job Taka."

She sighed and looked around one more time, sniffing at the meat cautiously like before. Figuring that it wasn't poisoned before, there is no reason for it to be now. Besides, if it was, she had a feeling Evan would be more upset if something bad happened to her.

With that in mind she took the whole tray and went to where the tiger was playing and sat on a bench and began enjoying the meal.
