LilKitKat's Second Cumming Thread 💦

Anyway, I dont any drama here...so howz this week shaping up for you all?

You lot working? Taking the week off? Just xmas?
Travel plans? Family? Work parties? Binge Stranger Things or go see some films and such? Sitting here and pants pulled to yer ankles?
Mainly working. Cranking out last minute OT before end of the year. Organized a little work potluck since we’re working overnight from Christmas Eve to Christmas.

I have one more day of work and then 10 days off. We have been so slow that I think I have started to lose my mind. I'm going to have to go buy more books. I only have one more after my current one o_O
I ditched the company Christmas party, and I am the only surviving member of my family aside from an estranged aunt, so no family trips.
I am taking a trip to hopefully snowboard in Colorado, but with the weather I might just enjoy the hot springs while I am there.
Other than that. Just finishing some animes and DJing a friend's birthday party. (Pants optional?)

I am just catching up because I had a drive to Seattle yesterday for my son's dental surgery.
Day started at 7 with the prep because since he's a special needs person, we had to take precautions.
Traffic wasn't bad, for once. We arrived an hour early for check in.
He was in the room a half hour later before the surgery was delayed by an hour.
Although he was sleepy, since he's never up that early normally, he charmed the nurses. They gave him a red stuffed bear before he went in.
I found the cafeteria and enjoyed tofu fried rice with fried Brussel sprouts and egg rolls.
Then went to the waiting room before they grabbed me to be in recovery when he woke up.
We didn't leave until around 5:30 when the traffic was not as easy because of rain.
Home by 7, then grabbing extra stuff from the store before I went home and crashed.
Long day, but worth it.
Today and tomorrow are normal work days before a four day weekend.

💐💐💐💐💐💐 four our hostess. Catching up on the thread now.

Dallas international is like its own city. It's huge!! Visiting the in-laws for their 50th anniversary
The year was 1993, March. I graduated Basis Training and AIT in Alabama and was heading to my new duty station in Louisiana. My second time flying ever. I knew nothing on what to do since I had a duffel bag of military stuff and another bag I checked and that was it. The flight left late from Atlanta, so we arrived in Dallas too late to get the connecting puddle jumper. I was stuck in the hotel they had for me and three other guys. They booked us in this fancy hotel, a business style suite if I remember correctly. Still, walking around in Class A dress uniform, since I didn't pack a carry on with casual clothes, didn't feel right. It was an adventure that night though just exploring the area under the hotel with everything. Then we were in Louisiana the next day starting my hell at my first and only duty station.

You reminded me of that. I hope your trip is less eventful and safe.

We're only going to be there (Tuscon) one full day. I'd come visit but the wife probably wouldn't appreciate it. Would save me a trip flying back to Texas though! 🤣
I was in that airport once but dont really recall it much. Amsterdam is one of the largest airports Ive been in, as is Minneapolis and O'Hare in Chicago.
Ive been to Tucson...not a fan personally, so glad yer only there one day.
Also...relax. you wont die on the plane.

Right now I am reading Will of the Many by James Islington. I know the second book came out a month ago, but I don't have it yet.
I would say I am currently reading high fantasy/historical fantasy.
I do also love some Solarpunk. Psalm for the Crown Shy is the book I have to stall me long enough to find more.
I was a big fan of the Legends and Lattes books.

We are staying in Glenwood Springs. There is a small ski resort there that is pretty good, but we are goong to try to go to Keystone.

Ever read the Red Rising series? First book isnt s good as the rest and yet its still terrific. Books 2, 5, 6 are pretty damn epic though. Final book 7 to be released next year.

What is the red rising about?

I'm reading a book series called the sound of sirens. zombie series focused on a young boy surviving.

Think "Game of Thrones in space"

if you like zombie books

-World War Z is quite good (they made the movie with brad Pitt based upon this, but they are wildly different)
-Apocalypse Z: The beginning of the end was also quite good

post apocalyptic books

-A Boy and his Dog at the End of the World is sort of zombie-like...and a fantastic book
-The Road by Cormac McCarthy...excellent book
