WELL

Some potentially good news for me for a change...I could use it!

I hadnt shared but my job might be ending, to which I have mixed feelings on.
I was working on a very big project but the primary person I was working with...well...she was GOD AWFUL.
So I work in tech, marketing project manager, and my project was for a VERY LARGE company that is having a product launch on Jan 30. I cannot say what, but undoubtedly you may see commercials soon, or even during the Super Bowl or something. I am not in on that aspect. But yes a very very very large company.

ANYWAY

Perhaps it was my 2nd or 3rd day on the job, after they got me my laptop set up, apps installed, some permissions figured out, all that, the primary coworker who wasnt above or below me in rank, but did have more permissions/access to the primary stakeholder and therefore got all the info first and such, was telling me about something needing to be done. All of our files and docs and images and whatever are stored in MS Teams folders and directories. Fine. So anyway, I asked "hey, so, where can I figure out x to start on the project..." because she didnt provide any instructions really, nor is there any documentation on "if you need to do x go to this folder/ask Jim/read this doc"...so I asked her and she said "I figured it out, so can you..." and that was it. Like...no help at all. I knew from that point that she would be unhelpful throughout. And...I have been right. Complete piece of shit coworker. So after a couple months I pretty much went to some leadership and didnt complain, just said "hey, can we build a resource to store info on how to do x and y and z..." which they said yes to. I started doing that. I needed her help with it to make some of the locked down fodlers, and she never did it of course, so it was all stored in the cloud/sharepoint etc.
After other mini projects we worked on, she became even less friendly and helpful, so I asked to move to another team on another project altogether. Well, turns out it took several months to figure it out, process it, they tried to salvage the team with me and her etc, but they are granting that FINALLY. So I was super happy because no more working with that witch...other than...it turns out they will move me off the team while they source me for another project. As in...no work whatsoever. And I have one maybe in the works but nothing for sure. So I had been stressing about that.

MEANWHILE I had been looking for another job at the same time. Completely different company etc. gotta cover bases right?
I had an interview with a different company I admired back in late Sept to which they said I passed/they liked me, but then I never heard anything from other than that they didnt have a project for me at the moment. Fast forward to early December and they wanted to interview me again...and I said fine. So I had that. And of course it was right before the holidays which is the worst possible time to get things accomplished. Holidays/vacations, etc...just awful.
Eventually I found out that really liked me via my recruiter. But then it was radio silence AGAIN.
So last week, on Tuesday (before fires took off) I was asked if it was cool to work EST or CST hours and I said yes, no problem just not 5am PST, but more like 630am if thats cool. Then quiet all week until today.
Recruiter said they may have a start date for me in early Feb.
Ill find out later today (got a doc appt to go to in 20 min)...
Also I dont even know the pay but...if its in the range they told me several months back...itd be more than Ive ever made...and itd be between 25k and 50k more than I am earning now! No issues with that raise!
Hope to get some good news this afternoon! Cross your fingers for me! Especially since my current job is now ending, so itd be basically a week or two of no work followed by a much better opportunity!
🤞🤞🤞

Also sorry for the long winded rambling story.
Good luck, lovely. :)
