stupid shop promised theyd rush the job to have it done today. Dropped it off at 930am. Said it should be done by 4 or so. I called them at 230 for an ETA. They said theyd get back to me. 20 min later guy calls me said he had a family emergency and wont get to it today. I said I need for work blah blah, you said youd expedite and the owner even promised or I would have gone to a different shop or simply dropped it off on a damn different fucking day. So...supposedly theyll have it tomorrow by 1030am/11. If they dont have it ready then or overcharge me I will go bonkers. Fucking hell.

I hate when shit like this happens, you can really see why so many people just throw stuff away instead of getting things fixed nowadays.

Is this the same "x" key computer?

yes. its not an old computer. Dell XPS 15 9530, 32 gig ram, 4070 vid card, got like Sep of 2023 or something. No idea why the X key randomly didnt work and then started working again and then quit altogether. A couple other keys once in a while started to not work too in the last week, but it was like 3% of the time. So thats why I simply got a new keyboard. Anyway, they better fucking fix it by early tomorrow morning and then also not give me some bs excuse about charging me for 4 hours of work. Granted online it shows about 30 min to do, so Id give them 2 hours max.

Hands up I made a mess of mine but saying that I'm not a professional, and you even have them the part, that should be pretty straightforward the most annoying thing is waiting for the part to arrive.

I love your definition of old when it comes to computers, the nerds in your audience are now aware you're doing pretty well for yourself 😅

Is 18 months old for a pretty elite laptop? I don’t think so. I don’t have cash coming out of my ass to but new Alienware stuff every year. Already established my only fans barely made anything hahahah

Well, now the computer company called and said they just got it done. That said, I’m with friends drinking and they close in 30 minutes so I’m gonna go get it at 9:30 or something tomorrow morning. It better work and since they called me less than two hours after they gave me the update they better not charge me for more than two hours. Otherwise there’s a scam. But glad to know that it’ll be done and I can file the India timesheets and my own timesheet on time without issue and then still get to a bar hahaha tomorrow for the games.
