That's still ridiculous.
Ridiculous? *shrug* Discussion circles, How To... Some forums wish to stay topic specific. I don't see the big shock there. Mass cross posting is mass cross posting (the original meaning of internet "spam", before it meant email ads, by the way), even if the intention is noble.

And over 50 votes have been cast in no more than a day despite that. That's pretty damn good. Isn't it?

Just cast mine. Good job, artists & arranger(s). :)

I'm going with dolf's dragon as the most original and best overall, I would love to see my Tea Club members's faces with this one hanging in my sunroom.

Darkglasses piece gets my second place vote, and the I might hang this on my living room wall prize.

The rest are excellent as well, but these two I enjoyed.

No. It is rediculous. Everyone, and I do mean everyone on Literotica, as well as the rest of the world, has the opportunity to vote on the story submissions that are posted to this site. But as soon as something else that ALL Literoticans can vote on comes up, and is being presented by "fellow Literoticans," the site becomes a segregated site with an attitude of don't cross my lines, I don't want you here. Yeah, that is rediculous.

On the flip side, thank you for your interest in the contest.

the actual name of my art would be

I see what you're saying. but allow me to disagree. It's not.

Difference here I think is that I don't see the lines and places. All I see is topics. And you go read the topics you are interrested in. The lit forum is one place, and you are not forbidden to open the Personals or GBLT section if that's what you want to talk about. Nobody said I don't want you here. They said, stay on topic, please. Nothing else.

How do you feel about a thread starter who wants his thread to stay on topic? Is he segregating and ridiculous too? It's the same thing as forums, but on a level below it. Here in the AH (a multi-topic section of Lit) we have threads like Abstrusions, where almost anything is discussed. And we have other threads that tries to deal with more specific things.

Do you think it's fine and dandy if I start posting "Rate My Ass" threads in the Story Discussion Forum? Silly and extreme example, yes, but the same principle. What if I all of a sudden start plugging my poems in this Art Contest thread? You think that's spiffy? Same thing. Sorry, but it is.

On the flip side, thank you for your interest in the contest.
My pleasure. I couldn't draw to save my life, so all I can do is vote. Please do it again sometime. It's been a delight.

Yeah, I used to be mod on one of the boards and we are instructed to move threads which are not appropriate for that one particular board (if it is a none pic thread posted on the AM Boards, it will get moved to either the Playground or General Boards..etc.) While I understand that we all can go to any of the boards and post there, I also realize many people who go to, say the General Board...They do not go to the AM Boards...and the like. So making a post letting everyone know about a contest/challenge is a good idea but will end up being moved from a topic specific board.

Now if the submissions were to be posted on the AM Boards (the contest hosted on that board), it would not be removed. It would have stayed, but a word only thread is not permitted on the AM board. Yes there is alot of skin on that board but also several threads which are ART threads and not just skin based.

Only thing I can think of is maybe we could ask a mod to make a sticky and leave it up fo just a week or so to let everyone know about the contest might be just the way to get the word out to everyone (now whether they would agree to it is a another thing  )

Just my .02 on the subject.

Now I would like to that HnH for creating the thread/contest. It was so much fun. I am really looking forward to enjoying more of them. I have told several people about it and they are interested in future ones, as well.

Very nice work all. I just wish I was more creative. I could never have come up with any of those ideas, let alone created them.

I would if furture permutations of this might be narrowed in scope...maybe to strictly erotic themes. To me it is SO open-ended that we are judging freestyle skiing against curling and speedskating.

any thoughts?
That was a thought when I started this, but then it dawned on me that there might be something SOOOOOO good that is NOT erotic in content, yet would still hold its own among the other content. In the end it'll always be up to the public that choose to vote and their scrutiny of the works submitted, erotic or not. Besides, we do have a number of artists here that work in a number of other subject matters. It would have been unfair to not give them their chances as well.

However, what I did not put into the rules of this contest is something that should also be considered.

First: ALL artworks submitted must still fall within the rules of the Literotica website, i.e.; NOTHING depicting sexual contact with minors; No depictions of beastiality lest they depict sexual acts or conduct with animals of mythos, etc., etc., etc.

Second: I did NOT make any rule that said the rules of subsequent contests that branch from this contest could not be tweaked, changed or omitted all together.

Common sense dictates that the Literotica rules stand no matter what, but otherwise, I made this a contest that could be changed in no way or in any way according to the individuality of the person conducting the contest.

I have always cherished individuality. Mine as well as everyone else's.

Liar: We will simply have to agree to disagree on the points made between us. I will continue to believe sincerely that what the other mods did with those invitation threads was tactless, exceptionally small-minded and with complete disregard to even the possible interests of the people who enjoy this site. You will believe as you do. That's where that dog will lay and sleep.

To everyone who has and still has yet to participate in this little endeavor directly or otherwise; I thank you. This has been a real blast to do and be a part of. I'm already anxious for what's next.

That's probably putting it mildly. You're too kind. :rose:

I don't get it either, it's one thread (per forum) notifying other users of lit about something that is happening elsewhere on the boards, a lot of people have an interest in art, whether they drool over am pics, philosophise in ht or smack themselves silly in the bdsm forums. :)

Why not put it in your sigline Hnh.

I love Dolf's, and DarkGlasses', but ElusiveButterfly's just threw me back 30 odd years to my childhood, fabulous.

I think more would agree with our mentality on this than not. Unfortunately there's just enough to disagree that also have there fingers on delete buttons to cause a bit of a stir.

Modified the sigline. I had thought of that, but I was lazy.

I love all the entries, but I do agree with you on ElusiveButterfly's, but further back. I can just see some weathered little shack, circa 1920s or 30s, in the back woods of a bayou. There's a glass of ice tea sitting in front of a fan that has simply been worked too hard for too long. The shadows it casts are the only relief from the sun that it can now offer.

In the end I went with Bulging Jock - I just liked that interpretation of the 'fan' theme. Having said that, I would be more likely to buy ElusiveButterfly's piece. I really like it, but I dont' see much connection to the stated theme. Of course, this from a man who's ex bought a poster of Georgia O'Keefe's Iris and bought into her assessment of it as a 'beautiful flower'. Which it is, but my ex is still a castrating bitch. :D

They are all very nice ~sorry but I only got one Vote ~Good Luck~ Ling

The poetry board has two mods under the name The Poets. I am one of them, and I removed your thread from our discussion circle forum. We have strict guidelines in that forum. I did not move your other thread in the regular poetry forum. The other mod may have. Art now has a thread about it. I will leave it there, but the other mod may not.
Honestly, the best way to handle a thread like that is to invite the poets to view the images and vote, then suggest that they write a poem inspired by one of the images. That way everyone is happy. ;)

yeah, but did you vote?

Actually, yours would have been my favorite if the vagina wasn't up so high. It should be moved down. It looks unnatural. Or maybe my vagina is unnatural and I shouldn't be comparing your drawing to it.

just reading through bit lost are you having problems with where this thread should be?

maybe the am picture forum ? i know its not photos here but some people on the am pic forum do try to keep thier pictures as erotic art

just a thought

loved all the artwork very tricky to choose one!!

Well, cast my vote for DarkGlasses. I really like the black and white with the Japanese imagery.

The fan in the fan was a nice touch. Reminded me of some old Dutch ad for cocoa.
A lady with a box of cocoa on a tray, on the box is a picture of a lady with a box ... etc. etc.
It's called the "Droste effect" in Dutch.

Ahum, back to topic.
