I suspect this might be a slow weekend on Lit. But for those if you checking in, why should you be denied your Litiquette topics? Seeings it's Good Friday for us Christians, do you ever find yourself turning your back in things here at Lit when you know you probably should have gotten yourself involved?

I'm admittedly guilty of this. I blame my high level of cynicism for any drama, good or bad, that happens online. I've seen too many fabrications, too many "I'm leaving", just too much to let me get sucked into whatever happens to be playing out online.

I've moved to mostly just lurking these days. And it's not simply because I'm "turning a blind eye" on any verbal injustice, either. It's more like the level of absolute BULLSHIT that's permeated any of the decent threads around here has gotten so bad that I'm having to ignore pages of content. .

So. I'm still Mama Bear. ...I'm usually the first to jump in an defend. But. . *insert exasperated head shake* ..this place has lately become so exhausting just to wade through the shit. I've got "real" issues to contend with. Why on earth would I involve myself with the kind of crap that's been going on around here???

There have been few if any occasions when I've felt like I "should" have gotten involved: Adults are free to get into silly or even vicious arguments if they wish to. Which doesn't mean that I don't feel bad when I see people tearing at each other, often over essentially nothing.

I do sometimes try to interject my thoughts when people seem to be misunderstanding each other, either in real life or online.
 
My feeling is that we're all adults. And even when someone acts childishly or viciousl here, that is none of my concern. Especially lately, with so many people who seem to just want to provoke. Like ReubenesqueAphrodite said, I have real issues in my life, this is fantasy. I ignore the nonsense.

Hello fellow Litiquette-izans. It's been kind of quiet around these parts, I'm thinking I may need to offer a 2 for 1 special. Twice is always nice, is it not? ;)

Have you ever posted the same basic post on more than one thread? Something that you just can't seem to be satisfied posting only once. Is that a Litiquette faux pas? My thought is that as long as it's on different threads, can be made relevant to that thread, and isn't posted in every single one, it's fine.
 
Hmmm I don't know if I' ve done that, although I probably have, unknowingly. But even if it's done intentionally, I don't think I' d call it a faux pas, unless it's done to an extreme. And yes it has been quiet here lately. ..wonder where everybody is....
 
This thread has been slowly dying, but I'm looking for it to be resurrected tomorrow morning.
 
Happy Easter everyone. One of the many "family" holidays yet we still manage to find some time for Lit. Considering that, would you leave Lit if your SO was distressed/upset by you being here, or would you sneak your Lit time and still be here without them knowing?

My SO knows I am here because he is the one who showed me the site. I don't anticipate the question applying to me, but should it ever, yes I would leave. Real life is the priority.
 
my last so brought me here - we are no longer together but if had been because of lit yes I could have walked away - I think he is still lurking around but doesn't post much.
 
It's often said that insanity is doing the same thing over and over but expecting different outcomes. With that in mind, it's come to me that Litiquette seems to have run it's course. At it's zenith it would have 1500 views in a 24 hour periods with 100s of posts. Now it's become 100s of views with 3 or 4 posts. So have we taught ourselves all the Litiquette there is? Is it time to move on?

The questions are the easy part, my concern is what appears to be apathy for the thread in general. Maybe it's just a reflection in the topics lately.

If other Litsters are anything like me (congratulations) they view the thread, see a new question they'd like to answer, say they'll come back later when they have the time, then never do because they're too busy with RL. :eek: That's definitely me all the way.

Well, maybe you could give the thread a little hiatus. I myself just "found" it, and would love to see it stay alive.
 
Hmmm, I don't think hiatus work for threads, out of sight, out of mind. Maybe it just needs some TLC.
