Long Distance Relationships

I think mine worked out well!

Your and Jenny's relationship is a testament that it can work... :D

The only LDR I have are friendships I don't think a Love interest one could work. I need to be next to the person.

I do hear you on this... however, any time spent in communicating while apart just helps you to grow closer if you so choose to do so. If you focus appropriately, you can get to know the person. Don't be afraid to be yourself, speak openly and candidly and things will work themselves out... :)

I will agree with this to a point.

I was in a very loving, long distance relationship. However, it wasn't the lack of being physically close that brought it to an end. It was more neglect.

Neglect and feeling taken for granted will strip you of hope...and the loss of hope of a future together will cause all sorts of heartache.

So if you are in one with someone, love them as you can, as much as you can.

that's my 2 cents worth.

Hey you have freckles I love those things on a woman;)

Long distance relationships never worked for me when I was younger. Now that I'm a little more mature I've found that the LDR I'm in right now is working quite well. We'll hit our one year anniversary in 9 days. :)

They never worked for me before but it wasnt the distance that killed it. I dont think they would have worked out even if they were next door. I have met someone halfway across the world and we just clicked, everythinkg fell into place. I need him in my life and am slowly putting things into place to make it work....

The one I was in worked for us:heart:. We met hereat Lit,she started this thread to get helpful ideas. Over seven years later, we are still together. However, we are now in a close distance relationship!

An LDR week

Well, almost a week.

I still find it amazing how many folks uphold an LDR, and I just love hearing about the couples that actually get together.:)

Oman is once again on the road, and although I realize it's just a matter of days (rather than months!), it brings back the empty feeling I felt after he flew back home after his NYC visit so many years ago.

I actually find it hard to speak with him on these trips! I get a little choked up and want to cry, even though this time he's "only" 500 miles away.

I'm glad this thread is still available, and hope that other LDR couples end up as happy as we did.:rose:
