Long Lost Love

She always liked being honest and romantic with him. It was fine by him cause it was always a hint that she cared about him.

"Yeah you are a part of mine, too. Let's go to our place in the park."

They had a lot moments at the park everything from their first kiss to their last moment. It had history plus the talks were always fun after. He smiled as the entered the park heading near the bench.

"I'm guessing you remember this place. A lot happen here."

She held his hand and sighed softly remembering the last time they were there. Her voice changed a little and was a bit sad sounding.

"Yeah a lot of good and bad happened here."

She continued to look around but avoided looking up at him as she wasn't sure if she was going to cry at some of the memories.

She was probably thinking the same thing as her tone changed. It was mostly good times they shared here except of course the last time. He couldn't forget it she was so happy and so was he until she said it was out of town. He stormed out on the date leaving her crying. It was the only bad memory other than that it was what he refereed to as the "first place" anything in their relationship started here, kiss, the first time they said they love each other, etc.

"Yeah at least will be able to make some more memories."

He look at her, but she wasn't looking at him. He put her up to look at him. Still smiling trying to bring her spirits up.

"What happen happened. I'm sorry for everything I ever have made you feel bad. I love you."

He leaned to kiss her for the first time in years. Hoping she would respond well to his loving gesture.

She bit her lip as he lifted her up to look at him. Seeing his smile brought a smile to her lips. Nodding in agreement about what happened happened. Hearing his words made her heart flutter from the apology to the I love you. Her arms went around his neck as he leaned into kiss her and she returned the kiss feeling on top of the world being back where she wanted to stay all those years ago.

It did feel like old times especially with the atmosphere. He smiled feeling her lips with him. He pulled back on the kiss still smiling. "We still have a date to get, too. Unless you want to skip it." He was ok with either choice it would be fun. They could go to dinner or do something that she would like to do.

She smiled as he pulled back from there kiss but didn't move away from him.

"Ohhh well lets go have our date and see where things go from there."

She leaned up and kissed him again before breaking it holding his hand and turning to walk toward the restaurant.

He smiled as they began walking it wouldn't be a long walk. He looked at her and close the space between to hug her.

"So I have to ask what was college?"

He wanted to really ask her if she had dated anyone, but he felt like the will kill the atmosphere.

She smiled and hugged him close.

"It was great lots of parties, guys trying to get me to go out with them, lots of dancing, classes and studying. I loved it."

She left out a few parts just not something she thought he needed to hear since they were having so much fun.

He listened to her experience and it seem like she had a lot of fun. It did hurt when she mention the guys asking her out.

"That sounds like a great time."

He said pulling her close. He led her to the street where the restaurant was on. Another question that started fiddling in his head as they walked. That he wanted to ask.

"It's down this way. So why did you come back?"

She smiled as they walked and half wondered if it hurt him to know others asked her out like it hurt her when he broke up with her. She sighed softly and looked up at him with the next question.

"Well school is done and I wanted to spend time at home for a while. I miss it here....."

She paused a moment before telling the rest of it.

"I was hoping to see you again..."

She bit her lip and stared up at him as they walked.

He looked at her who was now biting her lip in a cute way. Hearing her say she wanted to see him again made him laugh.

"Your just saying that. Besides why would you want to see me."

He said he had broken her heart in the worse way possible. He didn't know how she could act fine or forgive him for being stupid.

She looked at him as if he had horns or something.

"Because I never stopped holding out hope that things would work out for us or that you would wise up. So no I'm not just saying that."

She could forgive because she understood where he was coming from when they broke up. Se was just hurt when it happened and didn't want to see it then.

Her words made Daniel feel even more guilt about the breakup. Especially since she still wanted things to work out.

"That's makes two of us. I thought I wouldn't see you again when you would leave. That's why I broke up with you. I'm sorry."

He gave her a peak on the cheek as they reached the german place. The host ask where would like to sit.

"It's up to you. What do you want a table or booth?"

She smiled and looked to the host.

"Booth please."

As they were walked to their table she looked around and seen that not much had changed. She scooted into the booth and patted the seat next to her hoping he would take the hint to sit next to her. When they sat and the host walked away she leaned over and whispered.

"You're forgiven lets just not make a habit of assuming and not talking about things."

She squeezed his hand as she looked up at him knowing they both made mistakes when they were younger but they were adults now and she felt they could work it out.

Going towards the booth it gave him a chance. He was really apprenticed to have her understand him. They were opposites he was serious while she was fun. He saw her pat the seat next to her and Daniel scooted next to her wrapping his arm around her waist. She grabbed his hand holding tightly. Her words were kind, but assertive.

"It's deal."

Smiling at her he brought her close to lean on him. Even though they haven't been on a date in years. It felt like any other except this was somehow more special.

"You can get anything you want."

She smiled sitting there close to him as they looked at the menu. Once the waiter came back they placed their order and she looked up at him enjoying the ambience and the memories of their first dates here.

"This place hasn't changed a bit."

She smiled even more and leaned up taking a chance and kissed his cheek whispering.

"I'm glad you stopped and talked to me at the beach."

He ordered the same meal he always got. She seemed cozy against him it felt good. When the waiter left she also thought the same thing how nothing changed. He blushed from the kiss on the cheek, but at least she admitted that she liked him approaching him.

"It's funny because I was going to ask to hook me up with one of your friends."

He joked laughing and smiling at her. He kissed her cheek replying to her lovely gesture.

"I'm glad you said yes for this date."

She elbowed him in his side when he mentioned that he was going to ask her to hook him up with one of her friends.

"Oh is that a fact"

She stuck her tongue out at him and smiled when he kissed her cheek. Taking a deep breath she wasn't sure what more to say at the moment.

"Ow that's not nice."

He laughed feeling her weak elbow hit his ribs. After a few moments of silence he spoke.

“Whats wrong with you? Your so much of talker it's weird seeing you quiet."

He smiled at her as the food arrived placing their plates in front of them. He fixed himself getting ready to eat.

She laughed a little before she got her serious face on and bit her lip feeling bad for the thought going through her head.

"I'm just nervous is all. Part of me is worried that this is all a dream."

She hushed when the waiter came back with their dinner. It smelled delicious and she couldn't wait to dig in and enjoy it.

He looked at her face it was strange more serious than upbeat. Then she did the cute lip biting thing he liked. He smiled before going in and eating. The food tasted as good as it smelled.

"You shouldn't be nervous and no it's not a dream."

He took a sip from a soda before taking another bite to wash it down.

"So you know I'm not good with keeping a conversation going. Do you have any questions or should I ask you some more?"

She laughed and nodded.

"I know but it's ok, we don't have to talk so much. But I do have a question."

She took a deep breath not sure if she wanted to know but she was going to ask.

"Did you date anyone after I left?"

He laughed with her as she spoke. With a small smile he liked that she said they didn't need to speak to have a good time. Then she brought up a question.

"I'm going to be honest with you. I did go on dates, but I never had a girlfriend since we broke up."

He looked at her in the eyes as he said the words. Then he got a thought.

"What about you?"

She nodded feeling a bit stupid to have hoped that he didn't have anyone around while they weren't together. She sighed softly and shook her head.

"Never had a boyfriend and no dates. Went out in a group with people as friends but nothing you'd call a date."

She shrugged and took a bite of her veal.

Her voice sounded like not sadness, but disappointed. He thought it was nice that she didn't seen anyone while they were gone. He went back to eating however he thought that she might have took it the wrong way.

"When I said I went on dates they were never single. I was always the wingman, but I never touched them."

He leaned on her kissing her cheek again.

"Your the only girl I would do anything like that with. I loved you back then and now."
