Looking to drop a character in somewhere,

Uba thief is awesome :p

and the veil character for it isnt bad either.

still think i could develop what i have here for it tho...

o well ill find out maybe

having read page one.... i dont think im gonna join... not unless i just pick up on the fly... cause that is one hell of alot of pages... 11 in the OOC alone....

and 3 pages in IC... and my pages are LONG.

o well i might ask. might not.

There are 4,209 posts in the OOC and 1,032 in the IC. And oddly enough, we haven't gotten very far. In fact, for my character Eeth, he's only been in the Vale for maybe two to three days. Elmhand, however, has only been in the Vale for about a day, and already he's been in a fight against a huge ass monster.

Its cos I'm such a good DM :D

Now that I'm finished blowing smoke up my pipe, I like what DvsV did with his previous character. (Now I see where you were pointed to my thread)

If anything, I can always count on Jedi using my thread as an example for something.

One thing I don't fully agree though (and its just my style of RPing) is creating a "bare bones" character and then adapting said character to any storyline. Strictly speaking, I create characters to stories that I like, and all of those characters are unique. They may have some traits in common with other characters I use, but that is just the way I write. I identify with every one of the characters I create and creating them from scratch is part of the process of fully realising them.

IMHO, creating a 'base' character for any roleplay that happens to come along is taking the easy way and should not be an option for a creative writer. Yes, templates are good. But I prefer to use this one:

Name:
Age:
Race:
Occupation:
Height:
Weight:
Hair:
Eyes:
Physical Description:
History:

And add anything else that comes along.

Yes, I get that you love your characters and want to adapt them, just as Jedi wanted to adapt his "Chris" for IV. If it doesn't belong in that universe, you're better off just creating someone new. Someone you'll like and have control of. Someone that follows that DM's rules.

Jedi stated earlier that some writers here are brutally honest, sugar coat things, are rude or just plain don't care. Well, I'd like to say that I'm all that when I have to be. (though probably not as rude or non-caring as some). Sorry if I stepped on any toes or anything, I just wanted to give DvsV a chance to see another way.

Thank you, Wolfsister, for presenting a different point of view. Diversity is key to improvement. ;)

To be honest I build up characters on the fly usually. This was a learning experiance to make a versatile char but the only time i would use this is with something that I want to start. or where I can see I can do it. I would rather spend 30 min on a new one that just passes inspection (sometimes it doesnt but hey) that i can improve for a specific storyline than have one constant.

I say this because although I am a vampire/dragon nut. I do play other chars randomly as well. I have a half written story that will never get finished :'( yet the main is a female. I see nothing wrong with learning something new.

but kudos on tracking down the thread wolfsister. :p

LOL! I'm a curious one, that's for sure :D

And I'm a vampire nut too... and usually just need to get my fix. I hadn't pulled one out for so long that I actually made a vampire fit into the Star Trek Universe for an RP. So... hmmm.

Doing different things is the right of every Creator.

but not a dragon nut.... :'(

o well cant win them all....

so then. what is your ultimate love triangle of species/genders. just curious.

Erm, did I forget to mention that?

Of course I'm a dragon nut. Even playing one in Dragon's of Gralfor. Unfortunately, not many people like other people playing dragons in their threads these days. Usually have to find a thread that's especially made for them.

Love triangle? I don't really have one. Any match up is fine. It doesn't really matter the species to me. What matters is who it is. The personalities.

Somebody likes my Vale character?

That's the first time I have heard that. I must be doing something right.
