He knew he was beyond his father's territory, but while hunting for deer Sven caught a glimpse of a horse-drawn carriage from the thicket he walked through. He heard a high-pitched squeal and tentatively passed through the brush toward the road.

What was this? It appeared to be a maiden and her servant surrounded by two men. Could they be bandits? He looked toward the horses and spotted what appeared to be the driver, who lay motionless on the ground.

The scene before him was not a good sign and regardless of his stature or distance from his kingdom, he was not about to stand idly by and watch a situation that could get a lot worse than having the coachman killed.
