He was crouched on a branch, of a large oak tree, looking down at his prey in the clearing below.
The boar was sniffing the ground, completely unaware of the trap that was set for it and as the animal took a step forward, it's front leg hoof landed in the coil of vines. Squealing, the boar was lifted in the air, dangling by it's leg. It was completely helpless and knew that it's life was near to it's end as it heard the sound of something approaching it.
Ralph approached the boar, spear in hand, grinning in pride that his trap had worked. The animal would feed him for several days. He lunged forward and thrust his spear at the boar, killing it with one quick blow.
Once the animal stopped moving, Ralph cut it down and began to drag it back to his house.
