Lost city.( vampire, lycan etc roleplay,Open to all)

As the barkeep passes her the glass, Ryanna caught the scent of, not quite fear, but apprehension, rolling off the woman she had just noticed.

‘Huh, she doesn’t smell like a human or a shifter. I wonder if she could be a vamp.’ Rya thought as she glances at the woman from the corner of her eye. She is on alert now, her body tensing, for she expected trouble. Ryanna kept her face a mask of contentment as she sipped her drink, considering the idea of talking to the woman.

"How should I know?" I sent back to Talia, understanding her upset at the interruption. But whatever force was in the club at the moment was completely unknown to me, and therefore I had no idea what to do.

I sigh audiably, and focus on Aurelia's surroundings. My mind entwines with hers, reaching deeply into every mental crevice. I sense what she senses, borrow her eyes for a moment to see this new one, however fuzzy and brief the vision.

"She has energy similar to a Lycan .. but is not ... exactly. She could potentially be an ally ... or an enemy. 'Keep your friends close, your enemies closer.' "

I don't want to send any more, but I remain with her just in case. Much as I enjoy Melina's company and body, I feel a responsibility to Aurelia. If she finds herself in trouble, I will (reluctantly) leave Melina and go to help ....

"No, no, carry on Talia," I sent her. "I do not need you." My brain screamed out "liar" and I again felt like somehow the lycan still standing somewhat mutely before me was surrounding me, with his servants? I did not know. And the new prescense was not lycan. I turned on my bar stool slightly, just enough to take a quick glance around me, but not long enough for the lycan to take advantage of the situation.

Ryanna made up her mind; she would talk to the raven haired lady. Taking her drink, she slowly strolled over, as not to frighten her. On the way, Ryanna caught her covert glance around the bar. ‘Ah, it seems she has sensed me.’

“Is this seat taken?” Rya asks softly in a pleasant voice. Smiling as she perched herself on a stool next to the woman. Taking another sip of her drink, Ryanna watched the lady’s face, noting her chocolate brown eyes.

Tyler nodded. "Fifty it is". He pocketed everything he had been holding, and quickly counted out fifty dollars and handed them over to the sorceress. He couldn't help noticing that she seemed a little nervous, perhaps even on the verge of panic as she snatched away the coins

Tyler inwardly sighed to himself. "A pleasure doing business, sorceress" He turned and walked back into the nightclub, the woman obviously wanting nothing more to do with him

As she sipped her drink, Ryanna sensed a shifter at the club's door. She quickly glanced and saw a tall man walk in. He looked Native American with short black hair and was wearing a black leather jacket. She lets his power roll against her skin, so she could get a sense of him. 'Hm, he feels like a wolf. I wonder if there are any other shifters besides wolves here.' Rya thought hoping otherwise, as she turned her attention back to the woman next to her.

Tyler sniffed the air as he stepped inside, and something made him stop, albeit breifly. There was someone new in here. Someone who smelled a little like a lycan, but with a difference that he could not quite identlfy.

Walking over to the bar, Tyler ordered a whiskey, and paid the barman, leaving a small tip. Turning round and looking out over the assembled partygoers, and doing his best to shut out the noise from is mind, he idly sipped his drink while seeing if he could locate this new person...

Ryanna could sense the man as he walked up to the bar and heard as he ordered whiskey, his voice a low timbre. She sat very still, not tense, but just still as he was a couple yards away from her. 'Well well, what is his next move going to be?' She asked herself and taking a slow drink.

Tyler continued to scan the populace of the room, still searching for the one who seemed so familiar, yet so different to his senses. It wasn't long before his gaze settled on a rather beutiful young woman, her hair shining under the nightclub lights. She was looking directly at him, and seemed to have the aura of the shifters.

Downing his whiskey in one gulp, he made his way directly over to her. Stopping a few feet from her, Tyler was able to get a much better look at her. He was glad he did, for she truly was beutiful.

"So. New here are you miss?"

Ryanna watched as he strides over after slamming back his drink. She smiled up at him as she answers, “Why, yes, I am new here.”

Rya noticed his piercing grey eyes, that had a touch of ice blue, as he watches her. She swiveled her stool around to face him, holding out her hand.

“Ryanna.” She said by way of introduction.

The woman, introducing herself as Ryanna, held out her hand. Tyler, smiling pleasantly, takes her hand firmly and shakes it. "A pleasure Ryanna. I'm Tyler. And I'm very new here myself"

Tyler sat himself on a stool next to Ryanna, smiling and gazing into her beutiful eyes. He kept his voice low so that the normals wouldn't hear their conversation. "You're a shifter, arn't you? I can smell it on the air. But.. you're diferent from all the Lycans I've met"

I opened my eyes, finding myself on a rooftop in an unfamiliar suburb of the city.

I couldn't feel a connection with Aurealia, uncertain if it was due to distance or some other ... reason.

I was slightly dizzy, felt slightly hung over from the blood wine and ... ? Whatever other Powers Melina may have used to intoxicate me.

I was dressed, had my shoes ... didn't seem to be missing anything. The scar on my neck was my only injury -- a scar that would take a long time to heal, vampiric healing or no. It had done a near-fatal level of damage even to me, and it would be a while before my body would be able to compensate.

What had her game been? Had she just been ... needy? Then why was I here, and not waking up in her apartment?

Dawn was just starting, slowly and painfully she was pulling her self into the sky, the reds of her painful climbing an amazingly welcome site to my undead eyes.

Yes, we all missed the Dawn. That one novel, it got that detail absolutely right. Only a very few of us, after crossing that Threshold, were ever able to See the light, without taking so much damage as to Cease to Be.

I sighed, remaining seated on the building's edge watching the sun come up.

The Orb of Light crested over the skyline. I felt the painful, burning tingle of the sun's light, death to so many of my brothers and sisters.

And it struck me: Was this Purposeful? Had someone not familiar with my Power, my ability to Operate in daylight with effort, placed me here to destroy me?

If I saw Melina again, I would have some serious questions for her.

Rya smiled back as he shakes her hand. “A pleasure to meet you too, Tyler.”

She watched as he seated himself next to her. She tensed minutely as she heard his question. After a second, Ryanna relaxes and grinned.

“Yes, as are you.” She replied, also in a quiet voice, “I am very different, even I haven’t met another like myself. With the exception of the one who turned me.”

Her voice had a hint of a growl with that last statement as she remembered the incident. Rya mentally shook her head, and focused on the present.

Tyler raised an eyebrow at Ryanna's response, and also at the growl. She was bitten? It had been a very long time since he had heard of anyone getting turned. Perhaps there was something he could do to help her then, as he was very intimate with the state of lycanthropy. After all, he had been a lycan for his whole life.

"I have never seen anyone who has been turned. I come from a tribe, and only have contact with outsiders when it's unavoidable. Maybe there is something I can do to help? I am knowledgeble about the paths of nature"

Ryanna noted the raised brow and told herself to calm down. ‘It’s been five years and I’m still this pissed.’ She thought with a mental sigh. ‘But, I can’t forgive that bastard, he almost took my life in that attack. Then didn’t have the responsibility to stay around and show me the ropes. I had to learn most on my own, before I ran into the local wolf pack.’

She smiled at Tyler, “It is very rare for someone to be turned. Thank you for the kind offer, I’ll be sure to come to you if I need help. It’s been about five years, so I’m fairly well-versed, but I haven’t had may encounters with other shifters or paranormals.”

Tyler nodded, listening to her words. He chuckled a little when she mentioned experience. "Then irony abounds! I have very little experience of any kind of person outside of my pack. Even though it is a large pack, it still strikes me when I meet those that are not like us." Tyler nervously looked toward the door of th nightclub. "But one thing I can say is to guard your thaughts as well as you can. I have not been here more than a day, and already someone has managed to project their words into my mind"

Ryanna’s eyes narrowed at the mention of someone speaking into her mind. “Oh great, that’s just what I need.” She muttered darkly. “Thank you for the warning, I’ll be careful.”

She finished her drink and waved the bartender over. “I would like another and one of whatever this gentleman is having.” Ryanna turned to Tyler with a small smile. “If you don’t mind my asking, what brought you here?”

Tyle smiled. "Whiskey, please"

He scratched his head. "What braught me here? Well, if I tell you, you'll probably think I'm stupid or something, but it was... curiosity" He chuckled. "Stories had reached my den about a place where all manner of supernaturals gather, and that very few leave. I just felt I had to check it out"

Rya laughed brightly at his reply. "Ah, curiosity, I have that aplenty. Which is nicely bit ironic. You know, with that saying and all." A strand of her hair fell into her face and she brought a hand up, brushing it away. The bartender handed them their drinks and she took a sip.

Tyler laughed as he took his drink. "Aah yes, curiosity and the cat! Whichever cat that was must have been very curious to loose all their nine lives!"

Tyler took a sip of his whiskey. "I have to say that mine is certainly piqued. I was curious before, but now I'm even more curious as to what goes on here. I mean, vampires and lycans existing in the same city, and most of the humans seeming compleatly unaware of it. There has to be something very special about this place..."

Garnet took the money and disapeared into the alleyway. It was near dawn and she had had quite enough.

Petting the now calmer dragon she wander along the familiar path home. She was tired, so tired after her full night that she broke her own rule of going home before the sun rose. She was walking through the gates to her home as the sun peeked over the city.

ooc:  scratches head* ok nice move talia

ic: Melina was rubbing her eyes and looking around for Tali but she was gone. She didn't remember her leaving and the bottle of wine was on its side. Empty. Her head throbbed slightly in only the way blood wine could do.

Talia had left no note and the sun was comming up. It didn't feel right, niether had been quick to leave when it came time to part unless time was short.

Shrugging and yawnng Melina continued to strip what was left of her clothes and headed into her bedroom. The thick velvet shades keot the light out as she curled under the sheets and slept.

*Where'd did you go Tali???*

I saw Garnet returning to her home. I could see, and sense, that she felt safe, in the rising light and her renewed sense of power.

I nodded, and continued on my way.

*Where'd did you go Tali???*

I could sense Melina's confusion. I chose not to answer, for now. Something was truely wrong, and while I did not believe Melina or Aurelia to be involved, I did sense there was a ... force at work against me. I arrived at the porch to my house, entered quietly without checking to see if Aurelia was in or not, and fell rapidly asleep.

I watched the two shifters on the other side of the bar with faded interest, and noticed that my lycan friend slowly began to fade into the crowd as well. It felt like merely a dream. Obviouisly he did not feel like talking, or my questions had scared him away.

I could feel dawn approaching, and I would not make it to Talia's apartment. I still was unsure what to do about her. So I did what I had done many times in the past. I left the club, being careful that neither the lycans, nor the shifter were following me, and then I turned myself to mist and flew high over the city.

Less than five block from the club, was a cemetery and I misted my way into a long-forgotten crypt. It would be an uncomfortable day spent, but I had little choice. The sun was rising, and as it did I fell into the sleep that my kind does.
