"Goddammit!" Tommy sighed, as he arrived back at his dorm room after a long day of classes and found the doorknob covered with a sock, the universally understood sign that a hook-up was commencing inside. His dumb jock asshole roommate was bedding yet another idiot blonde, undoubtedly, and Tommy was effectively locked out of his room.

He shouldered his heavy backpack and made his way to the campus library. He probably would have wound up here eventually anyways, but he would have liked to drop off some of his textbooks first! Oh well, he thought, climbing the steps and entering the cool building. The air conditioning was a welcome relief from the heat, although the fact that it was Friday afternoon meant the place was fairly empty.

Just the way he liked it. He set his bag down at a desk and began perusing the stacks...

Nicole Mason was spending time at her second home.

If one, as bookworm-ish as she was, called the library her home.

Yes, she did. Where else would she be? With the popular kids at a social? With the other nerds at some club that didn't have any rhyme or reason to even exist? Nope. She wanted...no, she needed to study. It was all she knew.

Because, being an English Lit. major meant spending a lot of time studying, making sure she stayed at a 4.0 grade point average.

Sometimes, deep into studying, Nicole didn't pay attention to her surroundings like she should have. Because, being Friday, she pretty much had the entire library all to herself.

Which was fine. Nothing ever happened here. She was a nerd and tended to be ignored...

Tommy liked to wander the stacks. He would randomly pick up a book and open to any page, just to see what wisdom he might find inside. Often this practice netted very little, although more often than not, there was some kernel inside that was more than appropriate to his current situation.

He found himself in the sci-fi and fantasy section (as he often did), paging through something by Moorcock. It struck his fancy, and he held onto the book and continued reading, even as he meandered about quietly, completely oblivious to his surroundings. He didn't need big parties or pretty girls to get his heart racing; the adventures in a book were more than enough to keep him happily occupied...

Even though she had the wonderful world of the internet, Nicole loved the written word as it was printed on real pages. She had been scouring different sections of the library and had her nose buried in a book, her earphones in and playing a classical piece by Mozart...

Today was a rare day she didn't have any real homework, at least nothing due until next week, so she had allowed her some time to wander the many shelves of books, often times not remembering how she ended up in one place from the other.

Earlier she had picked up a book about lost art in the modern world... an extremely boring subject to some but to Nicole, it was rather quite interesting. She had been so busy looking through it that she didn't see she was about to run into someone...

Tommy was lost in the world of the book he was reading, and didn't notice the redheaded girl right in his path! She apparently was just as preoccupied as he was, because they collided right in the middle of the aisle! They both dropped their books, and they both crouched down to pick them up.

"Oh my God, I'm so sorry," Tommy said, trying to grab both their books. He wound up putting his hand on here and finally looked at her and saw who she was. "Hey... Nicole, right? You were in my English class last semester, right?"

Of course she remembered, Nicole smiled as she pushed her glasses up and helped him with his book while standing. Her modest skirt and shirt making her a plainly dressed woman but yet, still casual. Nicole's red hair was slightly curled and framed her face...

"Yes, I remember you... How are you?" She asked brushing her hair out of her face, "How are classes treating this year?"

"Umm, pretty good," Tommy replied, standing up with her after they reclaimed their books. He looked at her. God she was pretty. He'd definitely harbored a crush on her during that English class, but had never had the guts to go for it. Or even talk much to her. He blushed as they locked eyes.

"How, uh, how've you been?" he asked her, his nervousness painfully obvious.

"Oh, I can't complain," Nicole said, smiling, holding her book against her chest, pressing her breasts up ward, not realizing it.

Of course didn't know about the crush, but she couldn't help but feel good about him remembering her name. It was flattering and blushed at his smile. "So, what classes do you have this year?"

"Uhh," Tommy scratched his head. This was more words than he'd ever really shared with a woman outside of a classroom context. His heart thumped in his chest. Yes, the poor nerd really was just that awkward and shy. "Well, uh, the usual, I guess, boring stuff, computer programming, chemistry, calculus..."

"What about you?" he asked her. He was unable to keep from noticing the swell of her pert breasts as she held her books close to her chest. The slightest bit of cleavage was well enough to cause a rush of blood to his groin!
