Sometimes late at night
I lie awake and watch her sleeping
She's lost in peaceful dreams
So I turn out the lights and lay there in the dark
And the thought crosses my mind
If I never wake up in the morning
Would she ever doubt the way I feel
About her in my heart

If tomorrow never comes
Will she know how much I loved her
Did I try in every way to show her every day
That she's my only one
And if my time on earth were through
And she must face the world without me
Is the love I gave her in the past
Gonna be enough to last
If tomorrow never comes

'Cause I've lost loved ones in my life
Who never knew how much I loved them
Now I live with the regret
That my true feelings for them never were revealed
So I made a promise to myself
To say each day how much she means to me
And avoid that circumstance
Where there's no second chance to tell her how I feel

Never having to sleep along...

and Nowing he is there when the thunder boomers come in the night..

Love is like a blanket, it can be torn..but it is held together my a million little threads.

WHAT IS LOVE?
Love is a slow kiss goodnight, It's anticipation.
Love is flirting ourtageously and still remembering that the person at your side is not obligated to do anything, It's respect.
Love is an imperfection in your self not bothering you, it's acceptance.
Love is passing up an opportunity because the time isn't right yet, It's patience.
Love is a back massage that starts above the hairline and ends around the insoles, it's exploration.
Love doesn not have to say, "lets make love," because you know what the other person wants, it understands.
Love is being given an honest chance to say no when you thought you were committed, it's consideration.
Love is both of you remembering protection, it's responsibility.
Love is saying the perfect phrase to make a solemn embrace dissolve into giggles, it's humor.
Love is being told "stop and i'll kill you." It's desire.
Love is reviewing the damge to your living room and realizing personal effects are strewn in a clockwise pattern from the front door the to bedroom, it's abandonment.
Love is seeing what your love really looks like for the first time, it's truth.
Love is knowing what time it is and not caring, it's joy.
Love is the arms around you tightening their embrace, it's ecstacy.
Love is seeing a new side of a person you thought you knew, it's renewal.
Love is telling a person if you have to leave, you will let them sleep, and being told they would rathr be woken, it's tenderness.
Love is waking up to find the subject of the dream you were having asleep on your shoulder, it's where fantasy meets reality.
Love is being there to wake your lover slowly, it's sensuousness.
Love belatedly knows why you bothered to buy a queen-sized bed three years ago, it's practicality.
Love is two people only taking up a third of a queen-sized bed, it's closeness.
Love knows you gave the extra set of keys to your apartment to the right person, its trust.
Love is saying good-bye and knowing you will be back by mutual consent, its faith.
Love is stretching your arms and discovering the real meaning of the word "sore" it's a lesson in human frailty.
Love is opening your medicine cabinet finding your tube of toothpaste turned into a prezel, it's adaptation.
Love is sitting at the window, looking out and remembering who you were with the night before, it's reflection.
Love is hearing the weather forecast for a winter storm and wishing you could spend it in bed with your lover, it's loneliness.
Love is stories that will never be told, it's personal.

Love is so many things to so many people and the above two posts are excellent both in context and thought...and to those I would like to add...

Love that is hoarded, moulds at last
Until we know some day
The only thing we ever have
Is what we give away.

And kindness that is never used
But hidden all alone
Will slowly harden till it is
As hard as any stone.

Once upon a time there was an island where all the feelings lived; Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge, and all the others......, including Love. One day it was announced to all of the feelings that the island was going to sink to the bottom of the ocean. So all the feelings prepared their boats to leave. Love was the only one that stayed. She wanted to preserve the island until the last possible moment. When the island was almost totally under, Love decided it was time to leave. She began looking for someone to ask for help. Just then Richness was passing by in a grand boat. Love asked, "Richness, Can I come with you on your boat?" Richness answered, "I'm sorry, but there is a lot of silver and gold on my boat and there would be no room for you." Then Love decided to ask Vanity for help who was passing in a beautiful vessel. Love cried out, "Vanity, help me please." I can't help you", Vanity said, "You are all wet and will damage my beautiful boat." Next, Love saw Sadness passing by. Love said, "Sadness, please let me go with you." Sadness answered, "Love, I'm sorry, but, I just need to be alone now." Then, Love saw Happiness. Love cried out, "Happiness, please take me with you." But Happiness was so overjoyed that he didn't hear Love calling to him. Love began to cry. Then, she heard a voice say, "Come Love, I will take you with me." It was an elder. Love felt so blessed and overjoyed that she forgot to ask the elder his name. When they arrived on land the elder went on his way. Love realized how much she owed the elder. Love then found Knowledge and asked, "Who was it that helped me?" "It was Time", Knowledge answered. "But why did Time help me when no one else would?", Love asked. Knowledge smiled and with deep wisdom and sincerity, answered, "Because only Time is capable of understanding how great Love is."

Love is from the heart

I wrote your name on a piece of paper, but by accident I threw it away.

I wrote your name on my hand, but it washed away.

I wrote your name in the sand, but the waves whispered it away.

I wrote your name in my heart, and forever it will stay.

Love is..started with a glance or word a beginning to a real conversation into a life long journey together.

Love is........

The joy I hear in his voice when I ring, the laughter we share, the deep contentment which comes over me when I look toward the future at his side.
Tho we are separated by the Atlantic at this moment, I know he is close to me in my heart, mind and to the very depths of my being.
The time grows near when we shall be together as husband and wife, sharing life as its meant to be shared; As one, in the total rapture of love!

Tough times never last, tough people do :)

I always find so interesting how it starts so simply ...and grows into something so beautiful. Love is so simple yet so complex...I tend forget the whys...but enjoy the journey.

There are many forms of love which each of us has experienced.
The very first love we learn is of family, loving those who share the same genetics or the like.
Next is young love, which courses thru our bodies and minds, setting us on fire. All consuming, it can't be denied.
After we have grown into ourselves, love comes to us in a different form, one which takes on a deeper meaning. We now see others as an integral part of ourselves. We reach out, touching one another in a more meaningful way. Gone is the need for physical satisfaction. We now accept one another for the gifts they bring into our lives. We love deeply, unconditionally; accepting that person for who they are and what they have to offer us mentally, spiritually.
I've lost someone who was to me, my soul brother. We grew up together, knowing one another for over 40 years. The last 15 of those years we were the best of friends.
He and I had our romantic time together, but found we made better friends than lovers. We moved beyond the pain we had caused one another, forgiving ourselves and each other for our failings. We grew in our love and appreciation as a result. No longer did we try and change the other to suit our thinking, but instead appreciated and accepted our similarities and our differences.
We were best friends in all that we did.
Yesterday, I lost my best friend. He died and I was unable to say good bye or tell him how much I loved and admired him for what he had accomplished this past year. You see, he overcame addiction and was finally living a peaceful and fulfilled life. He was comfortable in his skin, so to speak.
Although our relationship was strictly platonic these last 8 years, I feel he chose this time to leave so I would be free to love another fully. Enabling me to open my heart and soul to my husband completely.
Maybe I'm right, maybe I've had too much stress today to think clearly; but this is what I feel and to my friend who has made his transition, I release and let go.
I love you M. You've given me many gifts in life and I pray I've given you many in return. My gratitude to God and you for being in my life and I shall never forget you my friend!
Rest in peace my soul brother M. :rose:

~kym~ always and forever your friend
