Love Story Between Captor and Captive

Hi all,

I was thinking of writing a story about a woman who is unhappy in life, she is considering suicide, but gets stopped by a man who also happens to be a mad-man who abducts and enslaves her. Having no purpose in life, the woman accepts her fate and enjoys it given that she is grateful the man saved her. What does everyone think of the angle - a dark romance.

I'd leave out the illegal shit.
Perhaps she's unconscious and out of instinct he takes her to his home.
After she recovers, to his surprise, she adapts readily to the new setting and begins cooking and cleaning as if she's been there for years.

Honestly? A bit of a cliche at this point, and highly problematic.

Realistically, the way to make it work is to have the abductor be a victim of a common enemy, and even then you have to go carefully.
