LUNAR: Silver Star Story Complete

"Jessica!" Alex exclaimed as he reached out and grabbed her hands in his. "How are you!?"

He laughed and said, "I hardly recognized you! You never wore anything like that on our journey!" Alex turned a bit red in the face. "I've also had a bit to drink, as you might have noticed, but....Jessica! It's been so long!"

Then Alex did a double-take. "Wait a minute...where is Kyle?"

Jessica laughed nervously. "I...well...I left Kyle. I had hoped that he'd change...but..."

She lowered her eyes. "He stole thousands of silver from my father's treasurey... Now my father won't even claim me as he daughter, and I knew I couldn't be with Kyle anymore..."

She sighed. "As for what I'm wearing...this is what Kyle liked. I'd love to buy something more appropriate, but I'm flat broke."

She looked back up to Alex. "So what you said earlier, about things not being perfect, you ment that about Luna, right?"

"Yeah, it's Luna and me. Things just weren't working out. I feel awful, though...we got married and everything. But I just up and left. I just couldn't stand her nagging anymore. I had to get myself away from it...for a while, at least. It's great that I could bump into you, though. You're such a good friend."

I sat up in my chair.

"I'm sorry to hear about you and Kyle, though...But honestly, I think you're probably better off. That guy can't stay comfortable anywhere. He has to keep on moving somewhere."

As I said that, I thought to myself how hypocritical I sounded. I had just done the same thing--up and left without saying a word to anyone. I shook my head.

"Well you know, Jessica, if you're short on money, you're welcome to stay in the room I rented here. It should be big enough for me to sprawl out on the floor somewhere. And if you need to talk about anything, let me know."

Jessica smiled.

"Thanks Alex; I'd really appreciate it. But if I am to impose on your space, you should have the bed, I'll take the floor."

"Oh, don't be silly, Jessica. It'd be better if we shared the bed rather than arguing about it!" The two of them laughed.

It was starting to get dark and the two of them were getting tired. They had talked a lot about old times, but were both avoiding the problems that the two of them were both going through.

"Hey, why don't we go ahead and head up to the room? It's getting cold down here and I rented out a room with its own fireplace. It'll be a lot more comfortable."

Alex whipped his room key out of his pocket and the two of them headed upstairs.

Jessica was satisfied with the thought of sharing the bed; Alex was right, why should either of them have to sleep on the floor?

As they entered the room, Jessica's eyes scanned the area. One bed, a small balcony over-looking the city, a pleasant color-scheme, and most importantly, a fireplace.

"This is nice..." she softly spoke, more to herself than Alex. She took a few steps in. "I've gotten far too used to living in a hole in ground..."

She forced a quiet laugh, turning to look at Alex. "But I'd rather not think about that whole situation; besides, I'm sure you'd not much enjoy my pathetic sob stories."

Alex walked over to the fireplace and threw in a couple logs. He found some matches on the mantle and got a small fire going.

"Well I'm all ears if you'd like, but since we're both full of sob stories, we'd both be best off talking about other things, I think. Why don't we curl up by the fire and talk more about the good times. You must be getting chilly in that outfit of yours."

Though Alex had to admit to himself, he didn't have any problems with her outfit, either. And he had meant sleeping in the bed together as a joke...His mind started wandering a bit.

Jessica smiled and accompanied Alex by the fire. Gently she brought herself to the floor before the warming flames; her legs together and tucked neatly back, placing her left palm on the floor for support. She looked up to Alex.

"I suppose you're right. Two young people together before an alluring fire, both vunerable by the heartache they've recently experienced... Who knows what could happen."

To Jessica, it sounded like a perfectly good idea... But she wasn't quite sure if it was feelings for Alex or feelings of lonliness that made her think that way.

"So what shall we discuss?"

Alex was curled up in front of the fire with Jessica. He started talking about how Ramus and Nall were doing, but though his words were away from Luna his mind couldn't stay off her, not as long as he was talking about Burg.

He looked towards her and saw her left arm was stretched out a little bit in his direction. It was long and slender and as white as cream. Her skin looked so soft. It was only a few inches from where his own hand was stretched out, keeping him balanced. What am I thinking!?

Staring down at her arm and having stopped his words in their tracks, Jessica was looking at him with a puzzled look. Alex grinned, embarrassed, pulling his right arm up behind his head. But as he did so, he lost a bit of his balance and his body moved forward, right towards Jessica, and he threw his hand out to stop himself from falling on her. His hand landed right on top of Jessica's.

Jessica made no attempts to pull her hand out from under Alex's. She simply watched him, well knowing that he simply lost his balance and had to catch himself by placing his hand somewhere. It was just coincidence that it happened to fall upon hers.

Alex's vivid green eyes looked up and caught Jessica's. His face was slightly flushed with embarrassment.

"I...I'm sorry." He pulled his hand back, as if the contact had offended Jessica.

"It's alright." She smiled lightly. She honestly had enjoyed the brief touch, but she wasn't about to request him to return his hand to hers. They were, after all, just supposed to be friends. Jessica kept telling herself that it was not her place to step in; Luna was Althena, and there was absolutely no way she, a drop-out High Priestess, could ever even dream of competeing.

Alex had pulled back from Jessica, embarassed...and a bit confused. She hadn't even resisted his touch...she was smiling. And it had felt so good, his hand placed on top of his. Thinking about it, he couldn't remember ever touching her before, even when they were on their long journey together. She had always worn that large cloak and hood. No one could touch her in that thing. He started laughing a bit out loud.

"What is it?" Jessica enquired?

"I was just thinking about that clunky old robe you used to wear."

Jessica started laughing, too. "I sure wouldn't mind that right now, though...it's still kind of chilly."

Alex quickly fumbled his own coat off. He had a thick shirt on underneath and was already warmed by the fire. He gently slung his coat over Jessica's shoulders, but as the fragrance of her hair caught his nose on the night air coming in through the shutters, he let his hands linger on the coat, his hands at either side of her.

"Well," he said a bit shyly, "I really do prefer this to that clunky robe."

"Oh really?" She arched an eyebrow. "Don't tell me you've aquired Kyle's taste in womens' clothing."

He laughed sheepishly. "No, it's just..."

She cut him off, "It's alright. I was teasing." She felt safe; warm in Alex's coat with his hands on each side of her. She tried to think of something intelligable to say, but nothing came to mind.

Alex kept his hands on either side of her feeling at ease in her proximity.

Her joke made him feel a little offish, though. He really didn't like being compared to Kyle. Especially now that he knew how badly Kyle had taken advantage of Jessica, who was such a dear friend...and who looked so beautiful tonight. Alex felt a sudden urge inside to prove to her there were better men than Kyle in this world. He wanted to do it himself.

Alex bent forward towards Jessica ever so slowly and kissed her softly on the lips.

Jessica froze for a moment as Alex's lips caressed her own. When he pulled back, Jessica stared at him with bewilderment.

[I had always wanted to be romantic with Alex, but I never imagined...]

"What..." she stammered. "What was that for?"

Alex smiled. The kiss had felt so wonderful. "It was just for you, Jessica, that's all. You deserve to be treated this way."

Alex slid his hands off from his coat over her shoulders, and put both of his hands on top of hers.

Jessica's face was quick to flush at Alex's words; never had she been told she deserved anything. She watched as Alex placed his hands on top of her own in complete silence.

There had been so many games she had been tricked into playing in the past, she found it nearly impossible to believe he was sincere. But Alex wasn't the type she knew to lead someone on that way; she decided to give him the benefit of the doubt.

"I really mean it, Jessica. I want you to believe what I'm saying. I want to prove it to you."

Alex wrapped his fingers up in her own and kissed her again, keeping his lips lightly over hers.

This time, Jessica returned the kiss tenderly. It was as if it was her first; she could feel her heart begin to pump faster with the experience of it all.

Their lips parted, but only briefly. Jessica found herself leaning back into the kiss, wanting to feel nothing more than Alex's warmth.

Alex gripped Jessica's hands tightly in his own as he kissed her. They pulled apart a moment for air and then she leaned into him again quickly, putting her soft lips on top of his.

It was so romantic in front of the warm fire, though he could feel things warming up besides the fire.

She pressed her body into his and he could feel her breasts press into his chest. It made his heart skip and he brought both of his arms up to her shoulders and pulled her in tightly. She welcomed his arms and moved into him, starting to push his back down onto the floor.

Jessica made sure that Alex's descent to the ground was easy, placing her hand beneath his head until it touched the floor.

She began to run her fingers through his silky hair, her full body pressed down upon his own thanks to gravity. She closed her eyes as her mind could not comprehend such a lovely scene, only imagine it.

Jessica gently eased her tongue into Alex's mouth, inviting him to the next level of passion.

Alex felt wrapped up in Jessica with her hand below his head and her body on top of his. Her fingers moved gently through his hair; it felt so wonderful.

As her tongue moved out into his own mouth, he met her with his own. As their tongues brushed by each other at first lightly, then more eagerly, it sent electricity down his body right to his groin. He kissed her more and more passionately and used his arms to pull her neatly on top of him so she was straddling his waist.

Then he started moving his hands all over her back. With only her small top, he felt her warm skin with every touch.

Jessica ran her hand beneath Alex's shirt, then pushed it lightly over his stomach and chest. She knew she was lost within her own needs, and Alex was more than a little tipsy from his night of drinking, but none of that mattered. All that mattered is that they were there...together.

The feel of Alex's hand moving over her back was amazingly relaxing; she could feel all the tense-ness that had accumulated over the past year leave her body, which only contributed to the feeling that she could just melt in his arms.

Alex could feel Jessica's nail pushing lightly into his chest and stomach. The feeling fueled him with passion and he kissed her ever stronger. Their lips danced together as the fire crackled and cast a light onto both of them. His tongue brushed against her lips and her taste filled his mouth.

He could feel her hair plummeting down over him, falling to either side of his face. He could smell the sweet scent of her hair so strongly. It felt like heaven to him.

He lustfully tore at the fabric of her top and pulled it down to her stomach, letting her full breasts spill out onto his chest.
