Magic and Mayhem! (With Master_Kain)

Prontera, In the Past...

Earlier in the day, little Glacies had heard her Mama crying in her bedroom for a ‘Daniel’. It confused and upset Glacies, even more when she tried to open the door and found it to be locked. Her Mama never locked the door because she wanted to be ‘prepared’ when ‘the time came for it to be’. Who was Daniel? She couldn’t be Daniel because she was Glacies. No one else lived here but her and her Mama.

So, finally, she gathered all the courage she could muster and approached her mother about it when it was dinner time. Her Mama always told her to not bother Mama when she was cooking but Mama was also liked to talk a lot when cooking and Glacies thought it would be the best time to approach her about the situation.

Hugging her Poring plushie close to her heart, she hopped off her chair and ledt the dining room and approached the large kitchen. Going up to her Mama, as she cooked dinner for the two of them, she tugged on the light, wispy folds of her mother’s light colored skirts. Her mother stopped chopping the carrots and looked down at her only child, the glare of the light above her and her bangs shadowing her mother’s beautiful, silvery eyes.

“Mama,” she said, looking at the silvery eyes that she had not inherited from her Mama. She had dark grey eyes, like the color of storm clouds that hinted rain was going to come soon. “Can I ask how Daniel is? Is he being bad to you? Is that why you cried earlier in your bedroom? If you want, I can talk to him and tell him to stop hurting you!”

Her Mama stiffened and she looked at her child with widened eyes that Glacies still could not see but she knew. She also knew her mother was crying but that was because tears were running down her mother’s pale, snow-white cheeks. Dropping to her knees, her Mama wrapped her arms around her small frame and brought the girl to her slender, willowy form. She felt the tears on top of her head as her Mama cried again, making them both shake for some reason. Glacies was confused. Had she done something wrong? She hugged her Mama, dropping her Poring plushie to the ground to comfort her crying Mama.

"Oh... Glacies..." her Mama whimpered

Geffen, Present Day...

"... Marine! Glacies Marine! ANSWER ME!" A voice roared at her, jolting her out of her fantasies and back to present

The dark brunette looked up, her dark grey eyes wide with shock as she rocked back on her heels and nearly fell. She flailed her arms in desperation, yelping while doing so. While she managed to avert the danger of falling on her rump but ended up looking like a fool in front of the Mage Guildsman who evaluated the Novices who wanted to be Mages. She could tell with how he looked at her sternly with his wise, black eyes and how on eye was twitching so much he had to slap a hand over it to stop it.

She also ended up looking like an idiot in front of everyone else that was there in the Mage Guild, who too were speaking to the other Mage Guildsmen in hopes of becoming one of them. Other Novices were tittering and snickering under their breaths while other Guildsmen/women looked at her and shook their heads or tutted their disapproval of her behavior. Glacies blushed even more and just wanted to sink somewhere and hide forever but she couldn't afford that luxury. She had to ace this test or wait for the five month period to take the test again but she had Aylward wait for two months though he was already a Swordsman so they could journey together. Glacies didn't want her friend to wait any longer in Geffen.

"Yes... Sir?" she said, hunching her shoulders in embarrassment as everyone started at her intently. "Can you please... Uh... R-Repeat the question? I couldn't hear you! I’m sorry! I promise to answer it perfectly if you repeat it to me! I’m sorry!"

This is the fifth time she had spaced out on him and missed a question. The Guildsman assigned to her, a Edmond DeGray, wanted to tear his hair at this point but he collected his calm, sighed and decided he would repeat his question again to the girl. Normally, he would have failed any other Novice who wouldn’t bother to pay attention to the quiz that was required the first time they did it and that was that.

But this girl? She was Glacies Marine, the daughter of the Sorceress Frig Winterdrop and the late Sorcerer Daniel Glacies. The both of them powerful spellcasters and fighters with control of two of the most dangerous elements: Water and Fire respectively. It was rumored that when Daniel died in Glast Heim, he had released a Diamond Dust so potent it forever froze the area he had died in. Not that it had comforted his wife, now a widow, when they brought the news of Daniel and the party he had been. Frig had went insane at the accidental death of her husband, which she insisted was actually a murder, and was known for being overprotective of the girl.

When Glacies was coming to Geffen to take the test, a message from her was sent to the Mage Guild and had ordered them to help her daughter become what she wanted ‘or fucking else’ she had so eloquently written in the message, underlining those three words to such a point she tore the parchment. Normally, such threats would be scoffed at but since Frig was infamous for her control over Water and her ability to make her promises come through…

“I will say it again: Give me three offensive spells a Mage can do and the elements," he said to her, saying the words slowly like she was an idiot. People near by laughed outright and Glacies blushed. She wished she had Aylward with her. He would make them stop laughing. But he had to wait outside since he was a Swordsman and only Novices who wanted to be Mages could do.

Glacies nervously played with the beautiful rainbow stone necklace she wore around her neck, the one that was a ‘favor’ from her mother when she had left Prontera with Aylward so she could become a Mage. It matched her mother's own neckalce, seeing they both came from a rock that reported to have magical properties since it had come from the legendary and deadly Glast Heim. They were retrieved by her deceased father, Daniel Marine, as a courting gift and a first birthday gift for his wife and not-born-then daughter respectively. The first trip, he came back alive. The second one, he didn't and the necklace was all that remained of him apparently. They never did find the body.

“Your father went back there to give this to you, to help you if you wanted to become like us," her mother said that night before she had traveled off to Geffen with her friend. She placed the necklace on her, her wintry eyes warm for once. "He... We want you to be happy."

Glacies clenched her fists together, gritting her teeth. She wouldn’t fail this test! She just couldn’t…! She looked at the man again with determined eyes, startling him with the flames they flickered in them. They reminded him so much of Daniel Marine's eyes when he cast a difficult spell or fought monsters. No doubt, he thought to himself, that she was child besides the hair and eyes.

“Three offensive spells a Mage can do is a Cold Bolt, Lighting Bolt and Naplam Beat. Cold Bolt which is a Water Element, Lighting Bolt which is a Wind Element and Napalm Beat is a Ghost Element. There’s a popular belief that Napalm Beat is a Fire Element but that’s a common misconception by Novices as they train to become Mages,” she said, rattling the information effortlessly thanks to all those nights and months of studying for this exam. She couldn’t fail. She nervously looked at the Guildsman, nibbling her lower lip. “Did I do good…?”

“Yes, quite well," he said, checking the question on his clipboard. "Now, we’ll test your aptitude on Magic. Please demonstrate…”

-----------------------------------------------------------

"I did iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit! Yeaaaaah! Aylward, I diiiiiiiiiiid iiiiiiiiiit!" Glacies screamed at the top of her lungs. "I diiiiid iiiiiit! I diiiiiiiiiiiid iiiiiiiiiiiiit!"

Glacies ran out of the Mage Guild, her Novice outfit now replaced with her brand new Mage clothing. She was jumping up and down as she ran towards her friend, shaking her arms in excitement as a large, excited grin was plastered across her flushed, happy face. People, old and young, men and women, stared at her as she ran to her friend because 1: Of her behavior, screaming and yelling thought she was a Mage and they were known for being quiet, reserved people and 2: Her breasts, quite ripe and bountiful for her age, were practically bouncing up and down as she jumped and ran. Nosebleeds and glaring women were plenty as she dashed over to Aylward.

Stopping in front of him, jumping a bit more and making her... curves jiggle, she spun around and showed off her new outfit. "Aylward! Aylward! Look! I finally did it! We can finally go out and travel!" she babbled, beaming in joy. "Aylward, do you know what this means? We can finally travel!"

Aylward was sittingat a outside table at a restuarant. His back was straight and about an inch from the back of the chair. Everyone in town knew the boys dream to become a Crusader. Though he has aleady passed his swordman's test that no one doubted the boy could do. He is a very large man standing 6'2" his blonde hair will kept and pulled back into a nice lose pony tail. Some have made fun of him about it saying its how a woman wears her hair. He smiles and laughs with them. Taking it in stride he knows they are trying to pick a fight so he doesnt let it come to blows. Many people like to try and test their mettle with him as he is considered the towns up and coming swordsman.

It wasnt long after the tests at the mages guild where finished that he heard before he ever saw Glacies coming down the road. Her voice was loud and happy it made him pretty sure she passed. Finally seeing her sporting her new robes which in many ways he wished covered maybe just a little more. Seeing how the young men around gawked at her and the young wemon glared. He knew she was attractive though he has always kind of seen her as a sister not as a woman but her outfit is starting to change his mind.

As she runs closer to him and bounces up and down beside him he strains himself to not gawk like the others at her. He leans down and hugs her tightly. This making her stop boucing but at the same time pressed against him which he had not fully thought through. A few people not to far away whispered as he did and giggled.

"Thats wonderful Glacies. Absolutely wonderful. I think we better go tell your mother about it dont you. I know you just want to run out of the town gates and leave but I think we better take a moment and get a god meal in you first and make sure you have everything packed and ready that you need."

Standing there a large sword leaning against the table as you cant sit in a chair easily with a large two handed sword on your back. Picking it up s he places the straps back on his shoulders. His shield also picked up and strapped to his arm as he waits for you to lead the way back to your house. Watching the crowd hoping there is no one wishing to start trouble with him today or with you sense you just finished your training. So many people like to prey on those just out of training.

Glacies couldn’t help but wince when Aylward said they should visit her mother, Frig. Not that she would an inhospitable host. On the contrary, her mother would be the perfect host to her and Aylward when they came by the house she literally grew up in. Her mother would cook and feed them until their stomachs ballooned, her mother would talk and talk and talk about the most interesting things, her mother would pamper and spoil them to no end even if they insisted that they didn’t want that type of attention. Yes, her mother would be a charming, charming person to be with.

Which was the problem, she thought.

She loved her mother and her mother loved her and gave her a blessing to go become a Mage but her mother… was her mother. She knew her mother must have changed her mind during these two months and would do anything she had to do to get Glacies back home. If it meant bribery, pampering and cajoling to do so her mother would do that and Glacies wasn’t sure if she was strong willed enough to say ‘No’ to her mother’s attempts to make her stay in Prontera. She wanted to see the world, she wanted to travel and see the sights her parents had seen, but she also lover her mother a lot and hated to see her cry.

The girl pondered what she’ll do next when she went back to Prontera as she merrily skipped along with Aylward and remained painfully oblivious to the people starting at her bouncing breasts and the way the hem of her small, purple dress would flutter in the wind as she skipped and bounced along with the stoic, kind Swordsman. Most men would have attempted to grope the girl with her looks and clear-as-day dreaminess. However, with Aylward with her at her side most people thought otherwise and opted to just stare and imagine instead.

Most people, at least. There were some who decided to pick on the duo for one reason or another. Like what was happening right now.

A band of Rouges, all male and all armed to the teeth, stepped in front of them and stopped them from walking any further when the two had taken a turn and went to a deserted street. Glacies bumped into her friend she looked at him, cheeks puffed out in annoyance for him making her stop walking, before she looked to see what had made him stop and her cheeks quickly deflated. Her usually cheerful face twisted in surprise and disgust, the latter emotion something she wasn’t used to until she had come here.

These were the same band of Rouges who had been pestering her and Aylward for the past two months during their stay in Geffen. Ever since the Swordsman had stopped them from bullying a band of young Novices, the group had apparently made it their mission for the time being to make Aylward and Galcies’ time here in Geffen miserable as possible. They hadn’t succeeded so far, thanks to Aylward’s strength and Glacies’ raw power. (When she had enough concentration in her magic to aim her spells, of course, nstead of just hitting her targets and her poor friend who was often in range of her wild attacks.)

“Well, well, well,” the Rouge Leader said, grinning like a maniac as he took in the voluptuous form of Glacies. “What do we have here? Tell you what, Swordsman, just hands us the girl so we can play with her for a bit and we’ll leave you alone. Don’t, we’ll kick your asses and have our way with the girl while you make you watch. Either way is fine with us”

“You pig!” Glacies said, pointing her Rod at them in anger. No one talked to her like that! Well, people did but not often and they were just like this guy! She focused her magic, gathering energy for a Cold Bolt that was basically going to hit all of them as fire came in her eyes. “Take that back!”

[OOC Note: Not to be rude but can you please keep it in third person writing? It’s kind of jarring for the post to suddenly shift to second person view like that.]

He saw the wince at the mentioned of your mother. He knows you love her but do not always see eye to eye about things. You becoming a mage was not something that she agreed to lightly when you first brought it up. He was only saying what you already knew we both should do to be polite to her. She has been good to both of us.

Chit chatting about your exam as we walk down the road hearing from you about how you spaced out few times in it but where still able to pass with flying colors. His own Swordsman's exams a while back went just as well. He passed them with flying colors as well. It pays off to study for those written exam and to drill frequently for the live exams.

Seeing all the stares about your dress makes him want to slap the back of some heads so that they will learn staring is not polite. Turning the corner noticing the band of bullies coming up. Holding out his shield arm to halt you and also key the shield in front of you.

Tell you what, Swordsman, just hands us the girl so we can play with her for a bit and we’ll leave you alone. Don’t, we’ll kick your asses and have our way with the girl while you make you watch. He heard what the man had said but your anger got to you quick and right it should as rudely as this man talked. He would have preferred to have settled this with words only but his words needed to be settles with muscle so that he could learn how to talk to a young lady.

He sees you pointing the rod at them with anger in your eyes. Unsure as to which spell you might be cast he readies himself. Shield held up before him sword drawn looking at the band of bullies. Knowing his first target will need to be the leader. Defeating him will lower the morale of the others and make them less likely to want to fight though numbers are on their side they might still press on.

He waited for the spell you where charging to go off so that he would not be up their in the middle of them when it went off.

[OOC: Yeah I am trying to be better about that please bear with me a little. Third person is a little new to me LOL I used to always play in ST but your right the writing is better in RD so trying hard to stay in it and even rereading several times to make sure if you can point out the issues in a pm to me so I can see any errors of which person I am writing in that would help me.. THANKS]
