Four batches today, I've decided. Each makes four loaves.
I'm already covered in flour, but two barches are rising now, scant hours behind the other.
Once I have the first in the oven I'll start on batch three.
These are CHICAGO loaves, by the way. Party food.
And the attendees God damn better well like it!
Well, no, that came out rather strongly, didn't it? Ahem.
I mean, I hope everyone likes this stuff. It makes marvelous sandwiches and is a solid hangover cure in the morning toasted with peanut butter. Truly.
Maybe I'm getting nervous about everything working for this event which is next week? Maybe?
I'm going to go make another batch.

Yum!
This is spring break so I have some time to bake. I enjoy it when I have the time.

I'm so glad I'm driving this year.
All the stuff I'm bringing? I'd need about 12 suitcases!

I think I may need a breadmaker.
Luckily I have strong arms, some muscles from martial arts, but after a couple of batches of kneading dough I can tell I've been working!

Doing it the real old fashion way is so rewarding... and muscle building LOL

But---- when I am healthy and happy with life I am elbow deep in the batters and breads and bushels of produce -
Damn... its still too early for homemade strawberry jam
I even have an orange tree in the back yard...fresh squeezed juice...
An herb garden inside and outside...
It's never too early for homemade jam! Nevah!

My herb garden in non existant as of yet - got them started thoughI moved drat it!
And I am so jealous.... but oranges and I have a funny little dance we do -
I eat ... I dance around itching for an hourbut I do it anyway

I was going to call you earlier, but I wasn't sure if 11:30 was too early.![]()

evenings are best though as I have been at doctors nearly every day![]()

Yesterday I planted a late nectarine, an apricot and a Santa Rosa Plum. My early nectarine is so loaded with fruit that I'm probably going to spend the entire coming weekend thinning. Then there are the weeds, the beds in the front and the beds in the "back forty". With this much garden, its a wonder I find time for sex.
Homemade pasta with an Italian hand crank pasta machine is about as ethnic as you can get. Such wonderfully messy fun!
