I'm taking the plunge in a couple of days. I found an experienced aesthetician willing to wax a male's genitals... Any suggestions? What to expect? How much should I take off? I'm not worried about erections or anything like that. I can't imagine being turned on when in pain (I've had my back waxed). Am I being naive?

All I'll say is good luck and that you're braver than I am. I would /never/ do a bikini wax, personally.

I know I had built it up to be so much more than it was that when I went for my first waxing, which I expected to be nothing more than a bikini wax because I was certain i'd chicken out I was surprised when it didn't hurt AS bad as I thought but it still hurt like a bugger!

Waxing the groin area is going to hurt like a bitch, i'm betting. i remove all of the hair from my mons by waxing and it DOES make your eyes water. i've performed hair removal by waxing for over ten years now as a licensed cosmetologist. And, i won't recommend waxing balls. The skin is far too pliable, as well as thin & must be stetched taunt so that when they rip the strip from the skin .... they leave the skin INTACT. Because these hairs are especially coarse, thick and with a bigger more bulbish root than other hairs on the body, pubic hairs hurt like a bitch no matter how you remove them. Good luck though, the long lasting results outway the pain... by far.

- The aftermath has been better than expected. It's much more comfortable down there, cooler. Sex is better too. Much more sensitive.
- I'm totally shy about showering in the gym. I've never seen another guy at the gym with a Brazilian and I don't think I want to be the first. I can't believe I didn't think of this first.
I recommend this to all men. The comfort and added pleasure during sex make it worthwhile.

I feel your pain!
I lost a bet a couple weeks ago to the wife and wound up having to break out the razor. I figured what the heck, it's not hockey season so I won't have to hear about it in the locker room, so ok. I've done it before, so it wasn't bad and the wife loves it. Only one problem: I forgot my doctors appointment the next week!
Oh boy you want to talk embarassing. What was worse was when his nurse walked in and he introduced her as a new intern. She was probably 20 and gorgeous. OH well, no biggy, I just rolled with it, but it was a little embarassing at first.
The WORST part though is that I have to go in for some surgery now, and it's not growing back very fast. There's also an outside chance that one of my good friends may be a part of my surgical team. If so, I'll never hear the end of this, but oh well. I guess if he's gonna see my guts, my shaved balls are the least of my problems.

I've shaved before. The first big difference is the stubble from shaving. Since the roots are pulled it takes a lot longer for hair to grow back (4 weeks until it is long enough to wax again). Also it grows back softer.
The waxer was able to reach places I couldn't get at, so it's much smoother and more complete. She also did the area between my anus and scrotum.
According to her, pubic waxing is becoming more popular with males. She says she has clients of all ages from 18 - 60, gay and straight. She also told me that so far, none have let it gorw back. After the first few days, I can see why.
