Egalia was a peaceful nation, within a peaceful continent, on a peaceful planet. Most attributed this to the fact that women ruled the world. No issues of succession, no bloody wars, men with overly aggressive traits were gelded to keep such traits out of the gene pool, yet those women who liked to indulge could do so. Right now men were trained to compliance, and most aggressive traits had been successively bred out of the gene pool.

Nulls, those that had been sterilized for whatever reason, or were inherently sterile.
Studs, those used for breeding purposes
Husbands, those chosen as permanent mates and were proven fathers.
A woman could take a null as a lover, and many did, as a woman could have as many men as she could support. The average household consisted of a woman, her children, and three adult males. Men were property, cattle, to be branded, sold, traded, loaned out, and worked hard. The rules regarding property damage applied, and women who abused their property were dealt with harshly.
