Four married women discover they all have the same plastic surgeon, who has convinced all four to try out his remarkably specific ideas on feminine beauty (same build, same nose, same cup size and shape, even the same nipples). They devise a secret test to see if their husbands can tell the difference.

Sounds like an interesting concept. But why four? It seems like it would be much easier to write (and maybe easier to read) if it were just two women. Unless you have four different ideas for how it goes, and you want to explore all of them.

When Abby joined the other three for lunch, she walked stiffly and had to use her arms to lower herself into the chair. "Three hours. Three goddamn hours. How do you put up with that? The sex with Frank was good, but goddamn..."

Brenda looked confused. "Isn't three hours normal? I mean, Edward and I didn't do anything last night, but I assumed that when we did..."

Carla snorted. "With Edward, expect him to spurt and fall asleep in two minutes flat. We used to make up for it by screwing like bunnies multiple times a day, but that was years ago."

"Must be nice when he wants deepthroat," Diana said.

"Wait." Carla turned to Diana, comprehension dawning on her face. "Is that why Jim was shoving on my head like I was a basketball? I had to twist his nuts to get him to stop."

Diana looked worried. "He didn't hit you, did he?"

Carla snorted again. "With his balls literally in my hand and my teeth on his dick? Not bloody likely."

Re-reading it, I realized the dialogue above is an extremely rough draft. But it still conveys the general idea of shuffling beds between eight people. It included differences between Abby and Brenda, with Brenda's husband, Frank; Carla and Diana, with Diana's husband, Jim; and Brenda and Carla, with Carla's husband, Edward; plus hints of the women's personality differences. Even the silence about what Diana did with Abby's husband could potentially say something.

Each of the four women could potentially have sex with her husband and three other men. So sixteen different ideas, assuming those involved stick to one-on-one heterosexual pairings.

I have a history of missing things other people consider obvious. Just ask my spouse.

If it's a series, four could work. If it's a single story, four is too many unless you're going into group. You're introducing a lot of swapping of identical-looking characters, who will be using both their real names and their "twin" names, it's just a lot to ask a reader to keep track of. It seems unnecessarily complicated unless this turns out to be a fairly involved and lengthy story, in which case, it might be okay, but you'll have to be really, really clear, make sure to give them very different names (so nothing too similar to each other, like Wendy and Wanda, or Helen and Elena), personalities, etc.

The premise itself is kinda interesting. It could be good in a more sci-fi setting, like a quick-change nanobot reconstruction, so the women aren't all stuck like that, they can just look like each other with a quick visit and some cash.

When I read just the thread title, i thought it was going to be about android twins and twists like typical twin problems - switching; sharing; swapping; threesomes, etc. but with the added angle of the nandroid personality/glitches/what have you.
