Just a quick run through to bid all my fellow Marylanders (and honorary Marylanders) a hello.
Man I wish this rain would stop, I'm in such a spring mode.
Welcome to all the newcomers I have missed.
Ok I'm off to watch more of the war coverage and the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Got a letter in the mail earlier this week stating that even though my full eight year obligation to the Marine Corps ended on January 27th that were nice enough to extend my contract another full year. So now I'm still in the IRR (individual ready reserves). Mixed emotions about this.
Man I wish this rain would stop, I'm in such a spring mode.

Dude...my sympathies. I've got friends who were all ready to muster out, and then were told "No thanks--you're still needed." I've seen a lot of analyses wondering if we really have enough personnel to support a prolonged action, especially if North Korea heats up...sounds like everyone from active duty to reserves to even National Guard personnel are fair game for being called to the Gulf.

I was thinking of joining the reserves after I got out but I really have too many financial obligations to make that sacrifice again. Hmmm, I'd prefer to see some sun, but this is a big improvement over yesterday's drizzle and dampness (right, watergirl? ). Still, the fog makes for an interesting view from my 10th-floor office...
