Matt Gaetz, AG. LOL!!!

some bullies still live their lives like they did in third grade. Threats and blackmail worked. Until they didn’t. Then the rest of us went on to fourth grade and life to today

In place of Gaetz for USAG we now have Pam Bondi.

Not much improvement:

Tenure

Bondi was the lead attorney general in an unsuccessful lawsuit seeking to overturn the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (known as Obamacare) in Florida et al v. United States Department of Health and Human Services. In the lawsuit the State of Florida and 26 other states argued that the individual mandate provision of the ACA violates the United States Constitution.[14]

In 2016, Bondi gave a speech at the Republican National Convention, during which she led "Lock her up" chants directed at the Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.[15]

In 2018, Bondi joined with 19 other Republican-led states in a lawsuit to overturn the ACA's bans on health insurance companies charging people with pre-existing conditions higher premiums or denying them coverage outright.[16]

Bondi opposed same-sex marriage and other LGBTQ rights issues on behalf of the state.[17] Following the 2016 Orlando nightclub shooting in June 2016, Bondi was interviewed by CNN reporter Anderson Cooper, who said that Bondi's expression of support for the LGBT community was at odds with her past record.[18][19][17] Cooper said that Bondi was "either mistaken or not telling the truth," while Bondi accused Cooper of fomenting "anger and hate."[18]

In August 2018, while still serving as Florida Attorney General, Bondi co-hosted The Five on Fox News three days in a row while also appearing on Sean Hannity's Fox News show.[20] Fox News claimed that the Florida Commission on Ethics had approved Bondi's appearance on the program; however, spokeswoman for the commission denied that, telling the Tampa Bay Times that no decision was made by the commission and that the commission's general counsel did not make a determination whether or not Bondi's appearance as a host violated the Florida Code of Ethics. The Tampa Bay Times described it as "unprecedented" for a sitting elected official to host a TV show.[20]

The Gaetz episode illustrates the fact that American presidents can’t be “dictators” after all. Who knew?
It does not demonstrate that. It demonstrates that not all of the favored lackeys are acceptable to the establishment.

Whoever gets the position and how they behave will illustrate whether Presidents can be dictator. From a purely operational standpoint it will depend on the level of independence of the AG.

Based on MAGA Twitter, they want him to be one. I heard the suggestion of Alito being nominated so they can get a new guy on the high court asap.

The “dictator” narrative was always ridiculous. The political pundits who compared a Trump presidency to a Hitler dictatorship are fools. The American system of government has checks and balances. The Gaetz episode clearly illustrates that.

I'm not suggesting the comparison to Hitler is at all helpful. Checks and balances rely on willing participants who are loyal to the country before the man. When you remove the barriers (47 has discussed firing of establishment folks) and replace them with loyal subjects (47 discusses loyalty as his main requirement) there are many fewer checks.

I'm not being hyperbolic, but the courts have continually loosened their checks on the Executive. I'm not fearing the worst...I'm concerned about the erosion that has already occurred and will likely continue.

As I mentioned....all the Gaetz episode demonstrates is that the establishment (who are already being talked about being primaries by the MAGA base) does not stomach such a tool. And Gaetz will fit into other places in the administration..or perhaps return as Senator......we shall see.

you're a fucking idiot and a drunk. a drunken idiot.

When Pam Bondi Protected Foreclosure Fraudsters

The new attorney general nominee, while serving as AG of Florida, fired the first two prosecutors to investigate the use of false evidence to kick people out of their homes.

The alleged “realignment” of the Republican Party into one that looks out for the little guy has never been so laughable as with the announcement of Bondi to run the Justice Department. Matt Gaetz may have been a sleazeball. But Bondi entered office as millions of Americans were losing their homes due to routinized fraud that key attorneys on her team ferreted out, and she saw to it that nobody would pay any real price for that, except for the attorneys who were attempting to protect the public.

Trump sure does focus on fraud and sexual assault for his Clown Cabinet.

Hey 74.....You have drank way to much of the "KOOL AID"......MAGA.....!!!

Matt Gaetz was the only member of Congress to vote against a human trafficking bill in 2017 when he was the representative for Florida's 1st Congressional District.

Gaetz, who removed himself from the running for Donald Trump's attorney general pick, was the solo "nay" vote on the Combating Human Trafficking in Commercial Vehicles Act.

This bill—which designated a human trafficking prevention coordinator at the Department of Transportation (DOT) and would coordinate human trafficking prevention efforts across the DOT and other federal agencies, as well as establish an advisory committee on human trafficking—passed the House with bipartisan support of 418 votes to one. 12 House members did not vote.

This is beyond ignorant even for you. Learn how the system works.

Better yet. Just go home.
Your a Clueless NIMWITT...!!...Its you that has no idea how SHIT works...The greatest changes in American history are about to happen....Only a NIMWITT can't see it...!!!

The greatest changes in American history are about to happen
Trouble is, they will be for the worse. Investigators persecuted for daring to challenge Trumpian criminality, lawyers persecuted for filing charges and journalists persecuted for reporting on it.

But it's all fake, because the rapist claims that he's the bigliest supporter of the 1st Amendment in history. And his cultists believe everything he says because they loved his TV show.
