McDonalds raises wages, increases profits

For many years, glibertarians such as Shitlord AJ, Shitlord Ishmael and Shitlord Miles have lectured us that raising the minimum wage would bring about the Shitpocalypse.

McDonalds quietly raised the wages of new workers by $1 per hour above minimum wage last year, and the results are now in: increased profits.

What sorcery is this, you ask?

Employee turnover rate is down significantly. Minimum wage jobs are high turnover jobs historically....when an employee is offered 25 cents more an hour elsewhere, they are outta there! Paying above minimum wage fosters a lower turnover rate, something unheard of in the fast food industry. Managers spend less time interviewing candidates and training replacements, and restaurants run more efficiently.

Not that business was a little down but that they were in any real risk of going away and that Breakfast all day had anything to do with saving them? The good parts of the breakfast menu are still only available in the morning.

It won't stop there. Pretty much any job that can be broken into parts can be done by (and generally better) by machine. Robot surgeons will always be 100% up to date. Will never forget a tool inside the patient (which happens a truly terrifying amount) and won't forget that Mr.Creedy is alergic to this or that. He'll never be stuck in traffic and you could install one in places (like say Africa) where nobody with that kind of training wants to be bothered living.
