Meaning behind user name

the meaning behind the 'Backdoor' part is quite fascinating and heartwarming, but you'll have to wait until my Lifetime movie airs.

Well, now I feel guilty. After all, john stamos would never endorse a movie about butt stuff (I've heard!).

I take a lot of time deciding just the right user name to tell a little about myself...I'm curious...does anyone else dedicate this much time to such a simple thing? What is the meaning behind yours?

I'll go first...

I am in a sexless marriage thus- deprived

I wanted it known that I'm female thus- femme

When I actively look for chat partners I tend to seek them out based on their catchy user name, that gives me some insight into who might be on the other end.

To answer the simple question posed- dirtwrench

Many years ago I was a pit mechanic on dirt track stock cars. I have since given up that terribly addictive sport, but I am still a farmer who does all his own repairs. I'm usually dirty- mentally and physically- and often am found with a wrench in my hand.

Oh and I may have posted a naughty story or two. If you are really bored, take a moment and search.

42 is the answer to life, the universe, and everything. Not my age. Yet.

I've been a fan of the Sherlock stories since I was probably 12 years old.

Right when I was joining Lit, the character was having a major resurgence with the RDJ film and the new BBC series, so it seemed appropriate to use a name that represented my love for the character.

but, but, but... We demand rigidly defined areas of doubt and uncertainty. Numbers at the end of a name are meant to depict age or year (of birth, etc). I don't think I can take this. Should I lie down? Put a paper bag over my head or something???

No meaning...I sometime wish I'd been more imaginative, but my name is Jane, my friends and family call me Janey...

self explainatory...... Male, from Sydney - and the double entendre was a bonus

John Q. Public is the name used to describe the average man about town. This online world provides a large degree of anonymity, and people do things here they would never do in their mundane, everyday lives. It is intended as metaphoric satire.

Seriously, I sometimes wonder when someone says "it's obvious" because it's only obvious to the person who made up their name. Not saying this person said that...

The way i read your name was:

"L8" spells "late" by itself so another "t" is superfluous unless it goes with the "n" and "It" looks like "it" no matter if you cap the "i" or not, which some people do to stress a new word, thus:

"L8tnIt" looks like "latent" or a misspelling of "latent" or "late Tennessee it" or Late Tennessee Information Technology" My point is, the mind boggles at trying to understand the undecipherable .

If you wanted "late night" then I would have gone with "L8nite" which would be a little more obvious generally speaking. of course hindsight is perfect 20/20 vision

I'm glad I'm not the only one that didn't get his name. Lol
(You know I think you are awesome, L8tnIt...just couldn't decipher it!! )

And LWulf, love your reason for editing your post!

I live near Oxford...and an Oxford Don is a professor. But my name is not Don - and neither am I one!:D

"The" Librarian was taken, so I picked a modifier that described me.

And no, it's not as obvious as it seems.

I'll leave the unasked question; "in bed, are you a 'quiet librarian?'" unasked.

...do two un's make a positive un, aka a p'un?
