Looking for the meaning of life. If anyone knows please clue me in. It would be much appreciated.:rose:

I like that thought Lord Dean. Another wise person said about the same thing to me. Now I am probably going to let my inexperience show but what is 42 mediocre.:rose:

Nah, not inexperience, just haven't read the right books yet. :D

so

If you don't know the meaning of life. Could you at least tell me your favorite cheese?

I told you the answer to the meaning of life. You just have to find the question that goes with it. And no it's not 7 x 6 = 42. That's been tried. It just doesn't make sense.

My favorite cheese? Anything from Wisconsin. We need the money.

Do you ever wonder if the man who invented ben wah balls mother is proud of him? (Awkwardly worded but you get the drift)

Proud

She may not be proud but she is feeling much happier. I am sure she gets hers free of charge. lol

@mediocre, you beat me to it I was going to post 42 also!

Favourite cheese Double Gloucester or smoked austrian

Matchmaker

Maybe my meaning in life is to make people happy by matchmaking. Mediocre meet Love2Spank. Sexy minds think alike. See I learned two things. I have a new author to check out and I have never heard of those cheeses. Mine is Monteray Cheddar. Now I just have to find someone for Lord Dean.:rose:

What about someone for you? I'll volunteer.

I hope you are able to discover these cheeses, one is english and the other as it states Austrian, as for matchmaking, I would be more than happy to chat with either yourself or mediocre providing you are sub fems, looking for a UK based dom

Forty-two.

Haha - I was going to answer that too. Well, I was thinking about it, but decided it was too snarky when the OP is looking for a more thoughtful answer to her question.

It means something different for everyone, I think. There isn't a "one size fits all" answer. I also don't really believe there is intended to be a question. I'm reminded of a quote from George Herbert, "Living well is the best revenge."

The quote is, I think, intentionally ambiguous. But I always focused my attention more toward living well, than trying to discern an answer to a question I'm not sure exists.

I am so not any of those things. Grins.

I'm hoping she was meaning platonic, birds of a feather matchmaking type thingy.

Sheep gouda and if Wisconsin made a decent one, I'd buy it, however for now I will stick to french and dutch sheep gouda.

42 is the answer to the ultimate question to life, the universe and everything from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

The meaning to life is to leave the world and those in it a bit better place than it would have been without you.

Normally I would get indignant and say Wisconsin makes no bad cheese but sadly I have never tried gouda, Wisconsin or otherwise. So I will not argue.

Ahhh, the power of cheese.

So matchmaking is not my strong suit. See that is the philosphy behind my name here. I don't always get things right so I do try harder. Also if you are not Jennifer Anniston gorgeous it helps to be willing to try harder. (It's not what you have it's what you can do with it.) I thank everyone that has responded. I have had inquiries as to why I would post that question on this site. Just for the reasons you see in this thread. I feel more connected to people here. I can really be myself. I don't even know how to describe myself in real life. Classic middle age nerd mom? Here I am the slutty diva that is inside. LOL. I have had more fun than I have had in a while laughing and done some serious pondering as I am a little beaten down by people right now. So you have restored my faith in humanity. I love to read so I have been clued into Douglas Adams and I am on the hunt for different kinds of cheese. Daydreaming about a trip to Wisconsin. Who would have thought my desperate question at a low point would lead me in all these different fun directions. Thanks. - Your friend - slutty diva. LOL

I am a bit confused about your being a nerd who doesn't know Douglas Adams but maybe that is what you were missing? I would also watch Princess Bride, Monty Python, Dr Who and Dangerous Beauty to get your allusion vocabulary up, not to mention some serious eye candy.
For kicks you might also investigate watching Lion in Winter and Man for All Season which will make you laugh and also realize that things could be worse ;) There are lots of nice quotes from those too!

Don't try harder, try different!
Come to Minnesota when you visit Wisconsin!

Dawning

See now I have new movies to watch and a new slogan to practice. Thanks Noor. Don't try harder, try different! I like it.:rose:

I don't think that word means what she thinks it means.

Grins. You'll understand when you watch Princess Bride. I LOVE that movie.

Inigo Montoya
Fezzik
Vizzini
Dread Pirate Roberts
Buttercup

All brilliantly cast and brilliantly funny. Well Buttercup wasn't funny so much but damn nice to look at. I will now refrain from quoting the movie more. I will, however, now be watching it tonight.

Inconceivable!!

Yes, the Princess Bride is an awesome movie, but since you do not want to pass quotes, it will be, 'as you wish'.

I too nod my head to '42' but to quote another movie 'The greatest thing you can learn is to love and be loved in return.'

Yes I am quoting Moulin Rougue. and good movie if you want to watch oh and let's not forget The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

But I get off topic, now don't I. So, here is my advice for happiness and the meaning of life. Yes, Love and be Loved. Not only by others but by yourself as well. Learn to accept love. Because, "If we deny love that is given to us.. if we refuse to give love because we fear pain or loss.. then our lives will be empty.. our loss would be greater."

oh, btw 10pts for who ever can guess that quote.
