The only thing odd about America and slavery is that we ended it. It had been around for thousands of years in every culture, and we were the first to note it was immoral on a societal level. That's America's legacy as far as slavery is concerned.

It was on Christmas in 1776 the World was changed. I still think it's will be a while before the progeny of these men turn this country over to tyrants either foreign or domestic:

During the fall of 1776, the British issued an amnesty proclamation that offered pardon and protection to rebels who signed an oath of loyalty to the king within sixty days. Thousands of Americans, including several members of Congress, clambered to sign the oath. One disgusted American Patriot recalled, “To the disgrace of the country and human nature, great numbers flocked to confess their political sins to the representative of Majesty, and to obtain pardon. It was observed, that these consisted of the very rich and the very poor, while the middling class held their constancy.” Making matters worse, the enlistments for the Continental Army expired in December and January 1, 1777.

I was there today....the history and events that took place are incredible. I visit a lot of these places since they are local to me. Philadelphia Independence Hall is local to me.

I got say, men and citizens of this character are sorely lacking these days. I can think of many though that fit the bill: Bob Dole, John McCain, Colin Powell, John Lewis among many others.

Sadly, Right guide, and I mean this with all sincerity and honesty... You do not.

Maybe your different in your non-digital form...I hope so.

I do hope, the likes of you, Bobo in all his alts, Icanthelp, Counselor, Bellesarius and others are different in the real world and do something if honor like what happened in 1776.

We can all use some of that and less of the bullshit.

Sure took a long-ass time for that "morality" to set in. Like almost 200 years from Day One to finish. And even all that was a fucking grudge match that half the nation went to war over. Not that most "moral" peeps on both sides ever believed that Negroes were their social equal in humanity, they just wanted to get a punch on their Pearly Gates entrance ticket for following the Bible's words in performative motions like you do.

The Industrial Revolution would've killed the very American institution of chattel slavery with the same energy and slightly lesser speed. But the social legacy detriment would've been the same. People still flying a traitorous flag, honoring war losers with countless statues and Jim Crow being the daily rules to indoctrinate and influence generations from all four corners of the country. Sundown towns still exist to this day. Sorry, America doesn't get any cookies in this regard.

Then consider that slavery still carried on in Africa after we fought a war to end it here. Black-on-black slavery, Littoral enslaving interior. Only Enlightenment philosophy could end it.

2023 feels like we're heading towards a Fuck You Very Much end of the year. The US and Europe are becoming poorer as Russia becomes the new global power. This xmas may be the last holiday of buying unneeded junk for most of the nation. And then we will have the winter deaths, which may be much higher than average.
