I didn’t use it to its full advantage before, too bad.
But, some very interesting experiences!

Same here, it was easy to find people in your area with same interests and take it from there.

I miss it too...that and the old Yahoo chat rooms.

AOL chat rooms were a lot of fun too.

Craigslist helped me hookup with some amazing women back in the day. Seemed to be a lot of university aged women who wanted to try being wild but didn't know how to meet men outside their social circle. Especially for kink things. Always shocked me how many I met and how hot a lot of them were. Like they could get a man at any bar out there but craiglist had that rep so they looked there. Plus so many men didn't put anything to stoke the... imagination in their adds. So I'd just post a couple of adds for different kinks and it was never that long before I got a message.

Also got into some dodgy situations. But they are less fun to remember.

AOL chat rooms were a lot of fun too.

I perused those too back in the day. Yahoo had local chat rooms though. By the state, or city if you lived in a larger metro area.

Met a lot of guys on CL. It was an amazing way for bi guys to explore anonymously. My favorite CL hookup was a guy in his 60's ( I was in my 30's then) would bring me his wife's panties to wear while i blew him. That wonderful arrangement lasted a couple years on and off.
