All the hoopla about MLK is of recent invention. He wasnt esteemed in his life. He stole other men's ideas and cheated on his wife.

It continues to amaze me that blacks have no other champion to celebrate.

Cynthia Tucker said it best when she observed that the nation transformed I HAVE A DREAM into I HAVE A DREAMLAND.

Yet he was able to repackage it in a way that connected with thousands.

Martin didnt just hop down the Bunny Trail and suddenly make life glorious for everyone. There were battalions of heroes, even before he was a gleam in his daddy's eyes. No one names streets after them or carves monuments in their honor.

Saint Martin was a thief and a self-absorbed self-promoter. The man loved a parade.

I read the story of Ella Baker recently, who did a lot of the behind the scenes work for MLK, yet no one knows who she is. So sad.

It could be a drill bit for oil drilling. It might be a riveter. It looks too small to be a jack hammer. I see them sometimes when people are doing road work, and they look to big too carry like that.

That's only because the men carrying them are not Russian! To a Russian carrying such a jack hammer is nothing! Right over the shoulder and off they go to repair the land.

Has to be Russian women. In Russia the women do all the heavy work and they eat the horses.

Oh, and there was a ton of controversy over the Chinese artist pick. I kinda wonder if they picked him, in part, because they wanted this to be a certain size and coming out of rock and all and even if an American artist would have charged the same or less the materials would have been impossible.

This is thing is apparently pretty huge. The total project has him coming out of a mountain:

Everything is outsourced these days. If they can get the sculptor to come here they get a guvmint affirmative-action check, too.
