Monster pet shop

Mark saw her glare but he didn't stepped back and he calmly replied back to the red furious woman. " I know it isn't my business how you handle what is yours but she is really scared that's why I stepped in."

When she slapped his hand he looked her cold in the eyes finding his calmness back and looks at her before he could say much more he saw a pile of clothes and the other woman sitting and he agreed with the woman with the glasses on.

When he heard Maybe I should just drop her off at the shelter... You know, the one on Kings St?" he turned around knowing all to well what kinda place that is.

"Hold on , hold on you said something about buying her from you ? What do you ask for her ? " He asks just wanting to help the poor thing and keeping her out and away from King St.

There is a moment of still silence as Sauvet contemplates the woman.

Then, out of the woman's sight, her purse's zipper parts and her identification floats out, ID cards borne aloft by nothing visible. They flicker together like a dealer shuffling cards, and fail to find the owner's identification that all pet owners are required to bear, as guardians of a fellow sentient.

The bowler hat's brim tips downward.

Disregarding her, he turns away from the woman and gestures Danica and Mark towards the sobbing centaur, urging them to comfort the sobbing liminal. Then he turns and strides towards the computer behind the counter, Pamela's identification obediently following along. Glancing over at the levitating information, he boots the computer up and begins a search through the database for any matches.

I hardly needed to see the gesturing gloves to realize what I needed to do. Audibly, loudly I began trying to comfort the creature. Cooing and lightly petting the fine hairs on her shoulder. Making my presence all the more obvious the other gentleman and I could keep the woman's attention for however long we needed to. Just had to pass it back and forth without pushing too heard and driving her off.

Pamela eyed the man. She highly doubted he had the kind of money she was asking for. "10,000. More if you want all the junk like her saddle and shit." Pamela was completely unaware of her identification that went floating out of her bag, but the centaur did.

The centaur's eyes widened. These people really didn't know what this human was like and she really didn't want to anger her any further. The poor animal flinched when the other female touched her shoulder. For her sake she shyed away. Pamela wouldn't stand for it and she was getting angrier by the second.

"What the hell is wrong with you people! I said don't touch her!" Pamela got in the face of the other woman.

During Sauvet's search he found that she was not in the registered list of owners. In a more general search though, he is able to find that Pamela is just another rich and snobby daddy's girl who was use to getting her way. She's already caused a few places to go out of business just because she didn't like how the staff looked at her.

Mark sighed and looked at her then he noticed what the other men was doing and he shaked his head when she wasn't looking anymore. When he saw the look in the centaurs eyes he felt really sorry for her so he took out his wallet.

He normally wouldn't have done this but since he knew the fate of the poor thing he took a risk and started counting his money that he had saved up for a while.

"2....4...6....8.....10.000 that's what you asked right?" he said holding the money in his hand so she could count it.

The reason he handled quickly is that he would doubt it that she would happy if she noticed what was about to happen and since he wasn't staff he needed to be careful not to ruin this store's good name.

"Wait!" Amanda said, jogging in from the back rooms. "Sir, there's no need to pay that kind of money to another customer. I'll have this all settled out." Amanda said, gently lowering Mark's outstretched arm. Looking Pamela and the centaur up and down, Amanda was pretty sure she knew why Pamela was here. A girlfriend jealous of a pet. Amanda saw it all the time. "Ms. Pamela, I think I have a solution that will solve your problem with the centaur and that will help you get back at your boyfriend." Amanda said, studying Pamela's body language to see if the guess was right. "If you'd just come with me?" Amanda asked.

(Edit. Sorry I wasn't clear about the boyfriend thing. I was just trying to get this post off before someone else posted.)

He smiled friendly towards the new arrived employer and putted the money back away. Glad that this situation didn't escalated. " okay sure Ma'am." he said kindly back being a bit curious what would happen and smiling quickly towards the centaur.

In his head he wasn't so nice at all he couldn't understand her motives at all. All that he knows is that she is a pampered little bitch.

He looked around and waited for a bit to see what would happen now.

Sauvet claps sharply, interrupting everyone in the room at once - the crack of air is unnaturally loud.

In the ensuing silence, he dashes off a paragraph with sharp strokes on his notebook and flips it around.

The young lady is not the guardian of this centaur, who remains one David Hammond. She is not legally permitted to remove her from her domicile per federal statute §54-3-12, nor to transfer ownership thereof, nor to retire her. I believe, in fact, that this falls under Intent to Illegally Distribute Liminals, per statute §54-6-2.

Irrelevant of legal charges, she has no standing to determine this little one's fate.

He strides across the room, coat billowing, and places himself politely but firmly between the centaur, Danica, and Pamela.

Pamela scowled at the woman who so accurately assumed there were problems with her boyfriend. Ex boyfriend. "Unless you have money hunny, scram!" She spat at her. This bimbo came in and messed up a perfect business transaction!

If things were not bad enough, in came the invisible mute with his fucking paper. Pamela's eyes nearly popped out of her head. How the fuck did this guy... Pamela's blood was boiling. She was not going to let these annoying low life's get in the way of her well deserved revenge.

"Kindly butt out, phantom of the pet shop! I can either leave with the money I am asking for or I take the four legged brat with me. Or else things won't end so well... For any of you or this establishment." She coolly threatened them all.

He hears her scowling at the employee who was only doing her job and for a moment he had the though of just overpowering her right her right now and give her to a pet that would teach her some manners.

the thought vanished as fast as it came and he waited for the employee to say something back at her since she was staff here and couldn't help but wonder where the manager is at.

When he heard her treatment he couldn't help it but smirk a bit what could she possible do to him he wondered.

The idea of throwing her in a room with a wild pet seemed more and more tempting and he couldn't help it but smile at the thought.Glad that nobody could read his mind.

"I'm so sorry to presume anything miss. I should know better when speaking to someone of your status. I know how important you and your father are. I didn't mean to give you any offense. As for these people, they aren't associated with the shop. If you'd just kindly follow me, I can offer you something much more exclusive than money. Something one of a kind, that will belong to you and only you. If you could just follow me please?" Amanda said, taking a few tentative steps towards the door, while subtly glancing towards the others to let the professional handle things.

He saw the glance of the employer and he withdrew backwards from what he heard she sounded like an important person. When he was back relaxed his mind wondered back to what the first woman wanted to show him and then he also saw the centaur and he hoped everything would become okay with her.

Not fully knowing what to do he looks at his companions and looks around listening to all the sounds he is hearing.

Sauvet's hat dips lower, and he steps forward now, chest to lapels with Pamela. That eyeless gap stares down at her.

NO.

It is abruptly clear why he has chosen not to speak until this point - the word is a blow to the gut, pronounced like a prison term so sharp and clear that it steals air from the lungs just to listen to it. It is no more a vocal noise than a lake is a pond; more a crack of verbal thunder. The room shudders under the weight of it. Yet, from his relaxed body posture, no one would guess Sauvet is anything but casually conversing, hands folded behind his back.

The woman's phone floats out of her purse, now, and flips open. The password comes up locked - flickers to emergency contacts - and then dials David, the ringing audible in the hushed silence of the waiting room.

The ominous crack and the flurry of movements ha taken an effect on the young creature. What'd they teach me in class? Is it like with horses? Maybe? Gently I move along the centaur and try to keep a calming presence near her. Maybe she'll focus on me. Hopefully. If not she may lash out or take off.

"Is that the owner? Can he be on speaker for a moment?"

Maybe his voice will calm her enough. If she feels cornered we may be in worse danger than the snobby lady threatens.

"Hey! What the hell, that is my phone! Give it back you freak!" Pamela swiped her hand at the floating electronic. Of course her attempts were futile. She didn't care what this being was, it was going to pay. Of course things have really gotten out of hand. If only people just minded their own business!

As the phone rang, she whipped around and glared at the woman who apparently worked there. "You are just going to stand there and allow these people to take my property? I demand you do something this instant!" The woman mentioned something about giving her something free of charge that she would want. Well, right now she wanted her fucking phone.

The electronic device continued to ring until it reached voicemail and the centaur heard the voice of her master. Not ever using or understanding how phones worked, the creature was looking around for where he was. "David?" She asked softly, it was the first time she spoke and her voice sounded small and scared.

Sauvet nods, and with a blip the phone switches to speaker.

The sound of a car running comes faintly over the phone as David picks up the phone a beat late, interrupting the voice mail. Confused and alarmed by the tears he can hear in the thickness of his pet's voice, he asks, "Delanna? How are you -"

He falls silent, as his brain begins to tick, and the sounds of his ex's screaming filter over to his side. He works as an engineer - cleverness is part of his job description. His pet, on his wife's phone. Delanna's fear, and her anger.

"Alright," he says, voice kind and soothing. "Can you tell me where you are, Delanna? I can come and get you if you want."

~*~

Sauvet merely gestures Amanda towards her irate guest, and otherwise disregards Pamela, turning to face Mark and Danica instead. He folds both hands over his heart and bows, head low. Gratitude always translates.

The phone remains levitated by Delanna's ear, and no struggle or stretch of Pamela's avails her in getting closer to it - the air presses her back like a thick cushion, impermeable to her advance.

"That's enough!" Amanda shouted, rasing her voice for the first time since walking in. She snatched the phone from the invisible man and hung up. "She is confused and scared, it is cruel to do something like that to her!" Amanda shouted at him. She handed the phone to Pamela before turning to the others. "You three sit down and let me handle this. I do not need your assistance." Amanda said firmly. "Now Ms. Pamela, please come with me. The centaur will be dealt with. In the meantime, I'd really like you to see what I have to offer you." Amanda said leading Pamela towards the back rooms.

While Mark was sitting in his chair and followed what was happening he listened to the employee and took a seat after all she was staff and he didn't came here to fight or something he came here to find himself an unique pet and he looked around curiously waiting to see where that first woman went and he was thinking of trying to find her in there once things calmed down with the centaur and the woman that was with her

Pamela snatched her phone, but her eyes were glaring at the phantom man. David was trying to call back but she sent it to voicemail. Like hell she would answer the phone for him! After putting her phone back in her bag, she turned to the woman who obviously worked at the pet shop.

"You said you would have something I would like?" She raised an eyebrow. "Fine then, let's see it."

What could she possibly want from a dump like this? It was David's hobby to collect creatures, not hers. Still. She would humor the woman.

"Of course miss. Follow me." Amanda said, leading Pamela into the maze of hallways. "Our scientists have done a lot of experimenting with animal DNA to make the perfect pet. And after years of trial and error, they succeeded." Amanda said, showing Pamela a one way mirror that looked into a small bedroom. Sitting on the bed was the perfect pet.

"Her DNA is a very complex mixture of several animals and human. She's physically perfect. And I think it would be appropriate to gift a woman of your status with her." Amanda explained. "There is one small complication though. She's never interacted with another human or pet. She'll become forever bonded with the first person she meets. That person will be her master, no matter what. She'll worship you no matter how you treat her." Amanda continued. "So before I let you in there to meet her, I have to be sure you'll take her home with you. She can't meet you then have you leave her here. It would... Not be good for her. And I know you didn't come here for a pet Ms. Pamela, but I'd like you to take a moment and consider what I'm offering you. This pet is perfect. The best of the best. She puts all other pets to shame. Your boyfriend's centaur doesn't hold a candle to her. Owning this pet will be a status symbol. People with know that you own the most perfect pet ever born. And they'll covet you for it. They'll know that out of all the people who wanted her, that you were chosen." Amanda said, somewhat dramatically. "So Ms. Pamela, would you like to take her home?" Amanda asked, offering Pamela two collars, one made of soft leather, the other a tight chain choker collar with metal rivets to dig into the wearer's neck.

Pamela was staring at the unique creature. The woman could be playing her as a fool. For all Pamela know, this mutt was a defect, something they were trying to get rid of and this was the opportunity they saw. Still, Pamela couldn't deny that the beast did look lovely, with her coat and body.

"So you are saying she's like a purebred?" She asked. "I believe your exact words were "perfect"?... Well, you can package her however you like. Like any purebred, I was documentation showing that. You also said something about her being genetically engineered. What exactly about her makes her perfect?" Pamela grilled this woman, showing that though the red haired woman had a temper, she wasn't stupid.

Pamela didn't even bother looking at the collars and leashes. She just grabbed one, and it happened to be the one with studs on the inside. After getting all the proper documentation she wanted and answers to her questions, Pamela went to the door and opened it.

"Come to Momma, Baby."

Delanna's POV

The device which had her master's voice was quickly taken away before David was given the information of where she was. Then the evil red haired woman was taken in the back. Now how was David going to find her. She was fighting tears. Of course she had no idea that phones could be tracked and that David was probably using the location of Pamela's phone to get to her.

The poor confused and upset centaur's legs buckled until her large body was on the floor and she couldn't help but to cry.
