Moochie’s Meandering Missives (and a pic or two)

When I was younger
We used to play dreidel
Between my siblings and I
For hours...
But betting wasn’t for real money -
Giving up cash for us to play with
Was never something my
Penny-pinching (loving term) parents
Would ever do -
And we didn’t use Gelt either,
Instead, we played for animal crackers
And chore-swapping -
No one likes cracking ice off the top
Of water dishes first thing in the morning.

Two dreidel bows for the second day.

I loved the story and learned about dreidel's as well both here and in searching. But I already knew how lovey you are in your pictures and this one has your lovey smile in it.:rose:

Dreidel isn’t really much fun unless there is serious heckling and betting involved. That pot could get really good near the end of a game, that’s for sure... and whoever won for the night was like a goddamn king to the rest.

I'm sure the bows on your nipples just needed a more creative angle. The handlebars are a nice touch though.

I remember seeing dreidel spinners at my neighbours house, at my first home after marriage. An elderly lady, and after her son and wife visited, they were often left at the back of her dining table. I had no idea what the were until now.

they look good crafted into the bows.

December 12th

Raindrop coated twinkling white lights
Strung through trees
Reflected upon themselves
In cobblestone mirrors
As clipping shoes
And quiet conversation
Surrounds thoughts
Of how much softer
He was,
So much more gentle...
And yet,
The exact right amount of pressure
Force
In each movement
Each word huskily whispered
Down my jaw line
And against my neck
For the first time.

There is a cacophony of senses
Wafting from the bistros, pubs
The clouds of fragranced chatter
Coating the areas closest
To their warm glows
As I slip inside
An open vintage clothing shop
And lose myself amongst racks
Of soft velveteen rompers
Mind drifting to hours before
Seeing that first glimpse
Of eyes that would carry me away
Into the storm,
Wittingly
Or un,
It didn’t matter anymore,
Doesn’t matter anymore
Because there were no more layers.

The platform isn’t really
But just a cement length of the track
That I pace
And wish
I were back again,
Rewinding the clock,
Turning it to when
My heart started beating.

Hanukkah Day 3

Wishing I had a relaxing third day,
But instead,
I worked.
You see,
Somehow I seem to pull the straws
That lead to working the holidays in December.
This will be the third year in a row
Where I will work more of Hanukkah
Than I have off.

It’s alright, though
Because fitting in small celebrations
On the days off
And in between
Becomes some of the fun.

You are a bit of a ‘workaholic’ but hopefully it takes your mind of other things that torture your mind.
:kiss::kiss:

There's no doubt that working through the holidays while co-workers are always able to take them off is frustrating. So I hope that you are able to arrange some time away on your own soon.

Hanukkah day 4

Hanukkah is “The Festival of Lights”
For two reasons.
You probably know one:
A lamp stayed lit for 8 days
With the oil for only one day.

The other reason?
It celebrates the triumph of light over darkness
And of spirituality over materiality.
Seeing the light, the beauty in
Yourself or someone else
And recognizing it
Is the greatest gift.

Something about this image is very cyberpunk-ish. Makes me want to take a couple hits of acid and fuck to music that hurts the ears of children.

A beautiful picture, it looks like the rope is over the lights, did you wrap the lights round first, or thread them through the rope after is was tied.

Fantastic! Rope and lights. Very creative. Reminded me of the movie Tron.

That just sounds like fun, no matter what I’m wearing... *puts on Rammstein’s Mein Teil*

Definitely more arousing than most Menorahs I've seen! :D

Uhhh... thanks? 😅

It was a bit of both, actually. I had part of the lights wrapped up my left leg and some of the harness tied and then sort of melded them. It looked so interesting in the camera. Much more so than I expected.

You’re not the only one to have brought up the tron-look this gave me. Thank you.

the new year is coming up
after Hanukkah
and Christmas
and all the birthdays...
so I’ve decided
to start coming up with
resolutions.
should I make goals
to try and complete things
that mean nothing to anyone else?
do I try to learn a new skill
that might not be useful,
but something I’ve always
wanted to try?

I’m not saying, I’m just saying:
flirting is a skill.

Love that skill hun, and the fact that you throw it around in abundance here at Lit.
Curious what other resolutions will follow ...

Hanukkah Day 5

The Star of David.
Magen David.
The Shield of David.

The symbol of Judaism.

Two equilateral triangles
Set upon each other
To form a symmetrical,
Six-pointed star.

I set out to create one
Upon my body,
And found each rope
I laid meticulously to
Curve against me,
Warping just enough
That wonder filled my mind
About horizontal lines
And whether,
Upon a Maccabean shield
The rounding points
Would look similarly...

Nicely done, with some historical background, creative improvisation, and a beautiful woman as her own canvas. I really admire your rope and knot skills but your original mind is a genuine object of joy.

That is actually a very good Star of David. Did you design it yourself? Very creative and clever.
