I, for one, would be incredibly dissapointed if you changed...

Moi aussi.

I have our friend on ignore, as he no doubt has me.

I did a search for threads started by him. I hadn't realized how many he starts.

I'm also glad I don't have to read them. :D

This place haven't changed much, I see. :D

We've had a few changes. Some good, some not so good.

I'm sure you'll add your own flavour to this place.

I love looking at an ami-less board.

In your PM to Laurel, ask if Lit can add an emoticon for "token nigger." It might save Amicus some unnecessary typing and be an effective gesture of good will.

If that happens... I insist on "token latin lover" or else I'll sue you, shereads, for forgetting about me in the post that got the token thing going.

I'll also sue Lucifer because it's his thread.

My suggestion is a slightly beige guy in a jacket with a cig hanging out of his mouth with the words "Rico.... Suave" flashing slowly behind him.

Thank you.

I think I will sue both Luc and Amicus for deliberate infliction of emotional distress. When I started to read this thread, I was very emotionally distressed over it, and that should be worth something.

I will sue everyone here, because I'm tired of being the token, and want the celebration of Thanksgiving and Columbus Day to stop immediately.

Can I sue you all for public indecency? This is a public forum after all.

All childishness.

A sterile and destructive wing of the Objectivist movement presumes bad will and bad motives in those who disagree with it. Some adherents of this wing take this as licence to publicly insult ideological adversaries. This is often accompanied by what's called the "(ideological) macho flash." IMO, such presumptions and behavor demean an inspiring philosophy.

Occasionally, this silliness incites reactions that are completely out of proportion to the fact that it is silly, making the person doing the overreacting appear equally silly. (I won't embarrass someone by quoting the most over-the-top line, the one containing the "p" word.)

It would be best if Ami stopped insulting "the usual suspects," and stopped "flashing." ("Born as bastards" - now really.) Whether he does or does not it would be best if "the usual suspects" did more of this:  Sometimes our smilies have more sense than some of our members.

If this is actually a rule, it is being broken constantly. Many of us, including myself, post feedback we have received to the Anonymous thread or the Best Feedback thread.

The public feedback shouldn't be a problem, as it was posted publically.

But I always try to leave names off of emails that I receive, to keep the sender anonymous.

Actually, I was referring to emails that I receive on the two stories I have posted. If I post the email on a thread, I omit the name of the sender. I might include PC's too, but those should not be a problem because they are already available to anybody who wants to read them.

I would think our near constant mockery of him as well as this thread would show that we haven't been taking him seriously for a long while. If you want a hoot and a holler, look back at his posts 2 years ago especially during "The Feminine Mistake" back when we considered him worth responding to.

Nowadays I would argue that only half have him off ignore and of those who aren't ignoring him, I'd say half of us just mock him for our amusement whenever he whines himself too often to ignore.

Frankly most everyone isn't taking him seriously.

Will that bite me in the ass if this was a real suit he's pursuing out of incredible ignorance? Perhaps, but it's still comic at the moment when I don't believe that any judge or lawyer would take his case even if he was earnest and not as I believe trying to intimidate me in a very old power routine.

Overall, much is similar to the tale of Bill O' Reilly who said he would sic "Fox Security" on a caller who called to ask why O'Reilly had it in for Keith Olbermann and saying that they now had the caller's phone number and they were going to order the local police to the caller's house.

It's the delusion of the autocrat. "I am the state." An insult against me is the same as a crime. Disagreement is a crime. Etc...

It's comic and sad at the same time. And for the most part that is what it is.
