The original 1963 version of The Haunting was very scary -- and without the need for gore or special effects -- just great acting, convincing sets, and a well-written storyline. I think the film was in black and white, which added to it's foreboding atmosphere. I first watched it on TV, from behind a chair, when I was young.Original. I like Liam Neeson but the remake sucked.
