I came into the full flowering of my troubles shortly after you got here. I was a raving lunatic for awhile, frankly, and still wonder that anyone who happened on this place at that time is willing to speak to me at all. But you did. Even when i didn't return PM's, when i didn't post back in threads (and not only to you but to *everyone* who was so kind then), you remained a voice in my ear, on my shoulder, kind and soothing and caring.

It was breathtaking, really, that flowing of care and concern from you to me, an almost-stranger. It was comforting beyond any ability i'll ever have to vocalize.

Ordinary people are not that kind, darlin'.
Ordinary people don't continue to be kind when they aren't getting "paid" for it in some way, such as effusive thanks or public recognition, or private conversations.

You're a good, kind, intelligent, thoughtful, fun and funny member of the Lit community. You're a real person here. You're as unique as piece of the puzzle as are any of us.

Don't down yourself.
And if you do, don't expect the rest of us won't jump in with illustrations and protestations of why and how you're wrong to do so.
