No, that's what impeachment is for.

Fair enough, but it’s an interesting thought. The senate blocks impeachment, President gets re-elected, maybe blocking impeachment again, and the statute of limitations on his first term crimes runs out by the end of his second term and he walks free.

The senate doesn't block impeachment proceedings. When the house impeaches the case is elevated to the senate. The senate becomes jury and judge and removal is determined by a 2/3rds vote for removal. After removal if any grand jury indictments exist ( high crimes and misdemeanors) they ( prosecutors and the courts ) proceed with litigation as normal criminal court cases for prosecution. My humble opinions.

Currently the senate won’t vote 2/3rds for removal, which basically amounts to blocking impeachment.
