I've been meaning to ask if you were invited out for a "return engagement".

Haven't had a date in eons - the trivia would be for me to come up with the last date - when? And whom?

On the 10th of October, 1800, the slave Gabriel was hanged at 15th and Broad Street in Richmond, VA, for attempting to start a Haitian-style slave uprising.

He was a literate blacksmith born in 1776. Kind of ironic, hunh?

On 11 October, 1971, Lt. Gen. Lewis Burwell "Chesty" Puller, USMC, died.

He was one of the most highly decorated Marines in the history of the Corps, earning five Navy Crosses. He fought his nations battles in Haiti, Nicaragua, Guadalcanal, Peleliu, and Korea, among others. His 1st Marine regiment spearheaded the amphibious assault at Inchon and recaptured Seoul in 1950.

He was most noted as a "fighting" Marine who commanded the respect of both his superiors and the men he commanded. He was a living legend at the time of his retirement for medical reasons.

Marines today are still schooled in what Puller taught and represented.

Thank you, Darling.

I've been slack as crap in doing anything with this thread (as tho' it were mine).

Good to see you - hope you have been doing well!!!!

Hiya Darlin'

How goes it? Heck you know you can always start another thread of trivia *giggles* I'd be right behind ya.

I'm thinking about moving back to Calif. Have to do some serious weighing back and forth.

How's that house coming?

((HUGS))

Should we? Miss Muffin hasn't been through for ages - she seems to be on the GB most of all.

It's coming. It'll take us longest to get it framed, which we're still working on. Got some pictures up, too, of the one we did last spring. More to resize, too, and then I'll put those up, too.

No idea where you are now . . . .

Take care - see you soonish.

Still waiting for the batch of pics of the current project, H-n-N, but I've just posted the shots of the last one on the Old House thread.

Enjoy!!!!

Yes yes start the thread ;)
I post in a few threads that are just alike so I don't see how it would matter.

I'm having trouble posting tonight. Everytime I try to post I become unregistered then I register and it tells me I can only post every 30 seconds.
I've left Lit and come back and it still does it.

If this works then I'll go over and see the pics ;)

Still won't let me.
*giggling* let's see if it will let me as unregistered.
