I growl in mild mistrust as Violet leads me away from my desired path. Something about her keeps me from becoming violent, however. I can feel that she has helped. I don't understand how or when, or what she helped...but that sense keeps me docile. In fact, half way to the garden, my physical instincts remember something as I notice an affect that hasn't occured since this cloud descended upon my mind. I feel physical attraction to her touch, which manifests itself as my unnaturally large cock becomes semi-erect. As we enter the garden I hesitate, but she pulls me behind her. She leaves me, standing in this damaged landscape, as I feel a pain around me. My erection quickly disappears as the reason for it does the same, and the pain replaces any phantom feelings that were playing on my hopeless excuse for a mind. The cat had followed, and she rubs up against my leg purring. I vaguely notice her as I stuggle under the pain around me. I look around for a way to return to the peace that existed after awaking in the lake. The cat suddenly starts to push me towards the river running through the area. I take the hint and wade into the middle of the river, disappearing beneath it's dirty water. The water begins to lighten in color, but the dirtier water from upstream quickly replaces it. I move upstream, my body seemingly melted into the bed of the river as I apparently wade through the mud. As I move upstream, the muddy bed hardens mildly, actually becoming more rocky (though unnoticeable to those on the shore. I reach a spot further upstream, and sink the rest of the way into the earth. The cat roars and then trots off happily.
Violet patted my leg in a motherly fashion, then left me to my own devices. Within, I felt much better, refreshed. The phobia that always lingered in the back of my mind had been pushed away, as if it didn't exist.
I decided to wander a bit, view my new surroundings. Perhaps there was a way I could repay my hostess. Outside in the bright sunlight, I noticed the bustle of humanity reviving the old campus. There was no water, except for a fountain. Drawn and repulsed, I pivoted and headed away from it.
i busied myself around campus and then finding some help i head back to the garden to repair buildings. Winter chill is setting in even though river hasn't iced over.
Then sun is setting when I finally make my way home seeking out swampy his cat had been watching us all afternoon.
The garden doesn't look much different, though the water seems to be mildly cleaner, and is moving at a faster rate. Upstream, the shore is a bit rockier than it had been, and the moving water is rushing over the rocks, churning, and naturally cleansing itself. It is noticeable that the shore forms a pocket on each side of the river in which some of the rushing water has pooled, as much of the polluting agents have been edged into these areas, leaving the water cleaner, though still not attractive. A film has developed over the pooled trash and filth. Also, it seems that a vast network of roots (not attached to any tree in the area) runs in and out of the shore, providing another place for the filth to be filtered out of the water as the river rushes downstream. If one looked closely, they would notice that the roots seem to pulse with life.
Rivers are peaceful. Or so I told myself. I could hear one in the distance, the curious rushing sound so ocean like yet so unlike the ocean. My body craved the river, needed it rather like it needed air. I wanted to run.
Instead, I crept closer to the water, until I could smell it deep in my nostrils, the rich redolent aroma of river water. I moved closer to it, until I was within feet of it's verge.
Pressing my back to a tree, I sank down slowly, until I sat, staring at the water in horrid fascination.
at end of day the workers head home and I find swmap thing and take him back with me seeing misery percariously perched a few feet from the stream feeding the lake. she looks desperately afraid. I approach her even as I'm aware of the increasingly healthly appearance of the thing next to me. I kneel next to her hand stretching out brushing her hair back around her ear, feeling and seeing gills at same time. Gills that looked dry and unhealthy. I reached out and cupping a handful of the cleaner water i gently spill it over the gills.
her reaction is immediate, it's as if I handed her a life line and gave her a knife at same time. the look of alarm in her eyes surprised me.
I reach out with one dripping wet, algae and moss covered plant-like arm and point at Misery, letting a low moan escape from my chest. Apparently, I have begun to recognize the presence of other creatures. A water snake slides out of my skin at the wrist and slithers up my arm and down my back, quickly moving over to the river and sliding in. I feel some kind of kinship with this creature, Misery, who is so attached to a part of nature, yet so detached at the same time. In response to her connection to water, the pure form of the liquid starts to seep out of my skin, running down my naked body and dripping to the ground, forming a puddle around my feet. I cock my head as my feline companion, walks around the tree and looks at Misery.

watching them interact i smile, and wonder where pyro is. I'm sure muff and tyriel are off somewhere training now and hope that DOA and the cyborg havne't killed each other yet.
I mentally remind myself to take a nap so I'll be alert tonight when Erik's other half comes out.
Well, that was interesting, I thought to myself. The room still smelled like him, I was sure it would for quite awhile, at least to my sensitive nose.
All things considered, I didn't want to be around people very much at the moment. Shifting silently to wolf, I trotted from the building and into the woods.
Maybe I could talke Gaeia into sending me a kal'enderal.
The, whatever it was, in the water was looking at me. I could feel his interest, it was a he. A mutant cat thing of some sort crept closer to me, sniffing. I only had eyes for the thing in the water.
Odd how, despite the stabbing fear I'd felt when Violet had doused my gills, I was no longer afraid. Nor did I even seem to be aware of the water so close to me. This... thing was interesting me.
"Hello." I said, canting my head and waiting to see what it, no he, would do.
After sleeping fore an hour or so. I git up and wolk over to the window streching and yoning on the way. I look out over the campis woching as pepil com and go.
I step up on to the window sill I balins ther for a secind and then drop to the grownd landing esily like a cat. I look arund I see a solitery tree and wolk to it. I len my back agenst the trunc and slide down to sit and woch.
One of the kids from erlyer coms up to me and asks if I will play cach with hem. I look at hem for a secind and say why not. I git up and over to a cler spot and play cach whith the kid for awile.
My brow furrows at the greeting as a dim memory plays at the edge of my dulled mind. I glide along the ground, lifting neither foot, closer to her. I reach out and gingerly touch the lips that just addressed me with a large finger. Water runs off of my finger and across her lips, sliding down her chin and dripping to the ground. Her physical need for water seems to be causing my body to produce the liquid in higher abundance as our proximity closes.
"Huhhnnn," I growl, then feel my own mouth with my other hand. My large, naked body responds to this female creature as well, but I appear to be rather unaware of that response. My face contorts into a strange, unpracticed smile at the sudden discovery of a low level of communication. Bright green foliage quickly grows around my legs as my mind grasps an old concept that it had long before lost.
The cat pushes her head up against Misery and purrs, trying to tell her the creature is alright. She then sits down beside Misery and watches happily.
