My beer adventure...

I had some type of pumpkin beer the other day - I am not a pumpkin beer person.

The only one I've found that I like is this one. I'll drink one or two per season when I see it on tap. Southern Tier makes quality beers overall.

Souther Tier has taken a step back in my eyes. You'll noticed that they changed Warlock, and this year's version is not as good, in my opinion. The ABV is now 8.6% down from 10% last year. To me, it is more spicy (nutmeg) and less sweet. It's much closer to Pumpking, in my opinion.

I'm not a fan of beer that tastes like pie. Luckily, there are many to choose from.

You know, I always thought it tasted like a rich delicious pumpkin muffin. It was almost like I wanted a cup of coffee with it. Sure, it's not an everyday thing, but it's fine around the holidays.

Hmmm . . . I had not noticed that . . . . but now that you mention it, I don't recall it being as good . . .

Ramone is correct, this one is different. Not your average pumpkin beer. . . .

I like my alcohol like my soul - dark and bitter.

Dark and bitter beers are often the most complex and rich ones. If done correctly, they are full-bodied and well-balanced. The bitterness is offset by their strength, and depth of character. They often get better with age too, losing the harshness of youth as their flavors meld. They become smoother while retaining their considerable strength. Swirled in the glass, they show their rich creamy head which develops long legs as it drips slowly down the inside of the glass.
