First of all, I have to say I'm sorry for those of you who may have come in here hoping to see pictures of me with my best friend! It ain't gonna happen this time, sorry guys! lol

But.... I wanted to share something here with all of my friends on the Amateur Pic Board... My honey (aka: RoamingSpirit) posted a thread in the General board a couple weeks ago, and I just found it again. (I wasn't home when he posted it, so I didn't read other peoples response to it until just now...) I have to admit that I was a bit upset by the insensitivity of some of the people that replied to his thread! (Now I remember why I spend so much time here in the Amateur pic board verses the General Board.)

ANYHOW
, We put one of our dogs to sleep on the 16th of November after having him as a part of our family for 11 years. It was one of the hardest things we'd ever done... RoamingSpirit posted a small tribute thread and a picture of our wonderful dog "Rufus", and in my opinion, his only mistake was not posting it here on the Amateur pic board amongst more compassionate peoples...

Anyhow, I thought I would share the link to his thread here, with all of you:

Thanks LBM... Rufus died in my hubbys arms as well... It was a tough one - especially when we were leaving the vets office and my 3 year old daughter started screaming "WAIT! We forgot our puppy! We have to go back and get him!"...

We had him cremated and he now sits on the hearth of our fireplace... Still with his family... :)

hey Sweetie, good seeing you. I'm sorry about your loss. *Hugs* At least you have lots of good memories.

Good seeing you too NC, and thank you honey...

I reposted RoamingSpirits thread from the General board here on the Amature Pic board to show him that not all Literoticans are insensitive... ;)

Hugs to you all, my friends...

Sorry to hear about your loss, I just had my puppy put to sleep last month she was 13. Big hug to you and your family. BP:heart:

sorry to hear about you losing your puppy mystic
why do we get so damn attached to them knowing the heartache which occurs every time we lose them
do animals mourn the loss of others as we do ?

Thank you tin_tinr...
I would say "Yes", that I do think that animals mourn the loss of others as we do...

We also have an Akita. (Roscoe) Him and my other dog were the best of friends and spend every minute together for 10 years...

Since we've had Rufus put to sleep, Roscoe has been a completely different dog... For the first few days he whined constantly and refused to let any of us leave the room without him following right behind us... And now It seems he does nothing but sleep... He refused to eat for the first week... We had to buy a whole new food dish before he would even consider touching anything in it... He's been eating the same food for 10 years, and now for him to be even remotely interested in touching it, I have to mix it with a half of can of soft food and some warm water...

I think he misses his best friend Rufus as much as we do, if not more....
