I would describe the new ones as a little more graphic.....

The brightness is OK . Not much you can do to that without Pro software but it works.
The sound is there but as ny said it is drowned out by the TV. Lets sample another

when your windows media player opens up ,
click on view , then down to enhancements .
Then click color chooser .. you can lighten
this up nicely and add contrast .
