For anybody that has a cat or cats...

What is the longest that your cat has stayed gone?

Lucky has not been around since Saturday...the longest he has ever been away before was less about a day and a half...

Methinks this does not bode well for him.:(

If ya see him let me know.

14 pound Orange Tabby...

Thanks Siren

5 years old....You mean that pussy may be two timing me? I thought of that because he has been into the neighbors a couple of times. But never this long. Usually just to check out what the other cat was having for dinner and then back home..

The longest? Most of a day one time. And I was very worried. I'm a worrying "mother". He may be pissed off at you. But yeah, what Siren said. Go around looking. Call the animal shelter to see if anybody brought him in? They might think he is a stray. I hope he comes back soon. You've got my best wishes. Want a hug too? :)

Hugs are cool.

Thanks April.

We have already combed the neighborhood and been to the shelter. That was a big mistake..he wasn't there but there were a bunch of kittens that were dying for a little attention and the dogs too. My son and I went we didn't stay long.

Pissed...wouldn't know why but that may be possible.

If you've had him fixed then he should have come home by now but if he is still in working order then there's a very good chance he's sitting on a back porch waiting for his main squeeze to come out and play hide the sausage

HeeHee

My cat is 11. He's been fixed, long ago and will often disappear for days at a time. Most of the time he'll come in for the night though.

I can understand how you feel, my favourite cat ( Arnie, 4 yrs , fixed) disappeared and after a few days I thought he was a goner. :( But nearly 10 days later the bugger sauntered in and snuggled up to me as if he had been there all along? I hope this happens to you too :)

Sorry, Thumper. I have cats, too, but they are strictly indoor only cats. I don't have any idea how long is "normal" for an outdoor cat to be away from home.

I hope Lucky's name holds true for you.

i had one gone about 5 years or so. Seems the ole neighbor guy didn't like the cats shitting in his garden, so he baited and trapped them. Someone said he took them way out in the country and dumped them. Mine came back.. real sick and eventually died.

Thumper, I hope you find your cat.. nothing worse than not knowing what happened to them

My outdoor cats occasionally disappear for a week at a time. One cat would be gone exactly 12 days and then be home for 5. Same schedule all the time.

Hopefully your kitty will come home soon.

A bit of good advice

Thumper, just don't go door to door in your neighbourhood saying that you're "hoping to get Lucky".

I knew a man once who's family named their cat "Pussy". Very imaginative and original, eh what? His family wouldn't go to bed at night until they knew the cat was safe inside. So he had to patrol the neighbourhood calling out "Pussy! Here Pussy!" Very embarassing! The worst was the one night he was stopped by the police on night patrol and asked what he was doing out so late and he replied that he was out looking for Pussy. Took a bit of explaining, that did!:eek:

Sorry to hear about that, Thumper. My current cat is strictly an indoor cat. But the one I had previously never left the yard - though she was good at hiding when she was pissed.

I hope he makes it home soon, safe and sound.

If that Cat wants to Come home

The Cat will be There...Talk to the Night like you alwayz talk to your Cat

Any news? I hope all is well by now.

Out door cats are strange things. We had one that lived with a few different families. Guess he stayed with who ever had the best cat food.

He loved to bring snakes in the house to play with. Damned cat knew I hated snakes.

Now I keep all my babies inside. Not that they like it.

Wishing you luck.

The cat came back ...

~For Lucky <to help him find his way home>~

Old Mister Johnson had troubles of his own
He had a yellow cat which wouldn't leave its home;
He tried and he tried to give the cat away,
He gave it to a man goin' far, far away.

But the cat came back the very next day,
The cat came back, we thought he was a goner
But the cat came back; it just couldn't stay away.
Away, away, yea, yea, yea

The man around the corner swore he'd kill the cat on sight,
He loaded up his shotgun with nails and dynamite;
He waited and he waited for the cat to come around,
Ninety seven pieces of the man is all they found.

But the cat came back the very next day,
The cat came back, we thought he was a goner
But the cat came back; it just couldn't stay away.
Away, away, yea, yea, yea

He gave it to a little boy with a dollar note,
Told him for to take it up the river in a boat;
They tied a rope around its neck, it must have weighed a pound
Now they drag the river for a little boy that's drowned.

But the cat came back the very next day,
The cat came back, we thought he was a goner
But the cat came back; it just couldn't stay away.
Away, away, yea, yea, yea

He gave it to a man going up in a balloon,
He told him for to take it to the man in the moon;
The balloon came down about ninety miles away,
Where he is now, well I dare not say.

But the cat came back the very next day,
The cat came back, we thought he was a goner
But the cat came back; it just couldn't stay away.
Away, away, yea, yea, yea

He gave it to a man going way out West,
Told him for to take it to the one he loved the best;
First the train hit the curve, then it jumped the rail,
Not a soul was left behind to tell the gruesome tale.

But the cat came back the very next day,
The cat came back, we thought he was a goner
But the cat came back; it just couldn't stay away.
Away, away, yea, yea, yea

The cat it had some company one night out in the yard,
Someone threw a boot-jack, and they threw it mighty hard;
It caught the cat behind the ear, she thought it rather slight,
When along came a brick-bat and knocked the cat out of sight

But the cat came back the very next day,
The cat came back, we thought he was a goner
But the cat came back; it just couldn't stay away.
Away, away, yea, yea, yea

Away across the ocean they did send the cat at last,
Vessel only out a day and making water fast;
People all began to pray, the boat began to toss,
A great big gust of wind came by and every soul was lost.

But the cat came back the very next day,
The cat came back, we thought he was a goner
But the cat came back; it just couldn't stay away.
Away, away, yea, yea, yea

On a telegraph wire, sparrows sitting in a bunch,
The cat was feeling hungry, thought she'd like 'em for a lunch;
Climbing softly up the pole, and when she reached the top,
Put her foot upon the electric wire, which tied her in a knot.

But the cat came back the very next day,
The cat came back, we thought he was a goner
But the cat came back; it just couldn't stay away.
Away, away, yea, yea, yea

The cat was a possessor of a family of its own,
With seven little kittens till there came a cyclone;
Blew the houses all apart and tossed the cat around,
The air was full of kittens, and not a one was ever found.

But the cat came back the very next day,
The cat came back, we thought he was a goner
But the cat came back; it just couldn't stay away.
Away, away, yea, yea, yea

The atom bomb fell just the other day,
The H-Bomb fell in the very same way;
Russia went, England went, and then the U.S.A.
The human race was finished without a chance to pray.

But the cat came back the very next day,
The cat came back, we thought he was a goner
But the cat came back; it just couldn't stay away.
Away, away, yea, yea, yea

Isabella... that charm works even better if you are nude and sitting in the owners lap. Right Thumper?

Thanks for the info.

Still no sign of him. Bummer.

My son made a sign up and he is going to post it around the neighborhood.

Maybe he just got a wild hair up his ass...anything other than that, I don't think I want to know.

Great poem Isabella:) I cut and pasted it into wordpad. Thanks.

BTW..I did what Mensa suggested last night.

Bond was 1000 cash and the preliminary is Monday morning.;)

Morgan, one of our two queens went off for a month ... turned up about a pound and a half lighter one morning. Definitely one of my better days.

So don't give up on him

Wishing you luck from the UK

My cat

One of my cats disappeared for a month or so when he was a kitten. We combed the neighbourhood and asked everyone to check their garages. He was a Siamese so he wasn't difficult to spot.

He was found a month later hanging out of someones letterbox. It turns out someone had found him and made out that they didn't know he was lost. We distinctly remember calling on that house asking if they had seen a stray Siamese and they said no !

Unfortunately he died about 6 months ago :( and my other Siamese cat has just fallen seriously ill :(
