Mysterious Circumstances (pm to discuss joining)

Austin smiled back at April and gave her a gentle kiss. "I'm glad you enjoyed yourself, but I think it's time you return the favor." Austin said smiling. "Yes please. That sounds amazing! We can swim over to the rock in the center of the lake and keep going." Adrianna said excitedly. She helped guide April and Austin to the rock, then with some help climbed up herself. "So what do you guys want to do next?" Adrianna asked as she began to massage open the scales that protected her womanhood. Austin reached forward and moved Adrianna's hand aside and began to rub her scales himself. Adrianna gasped as her scales parted and Austin's fingers began to play with her folds. Austin continued to finger Adrianna, but turned to look at April his expression asking permission to continue enjoying the mermaid.

April nodded her consent before getting started.

Erik gave a smile trying his best to be friendly to the strange person in front of him. "Who doesn't like cupcakes?" He said trying not to stare at the new guy. Erik was pretty sure he was a guy at least. "So um... What do we call you?" Erik asked trying to be polite.

David watched the entire interaction in silence. He didn't mind young people, what upset him were the ones who dyed their hair and shoved metal through their faces. In his days as a cop he'd see hundreds of kids like that, dressed up weirdly like circus freaks, and as far as he was concerned they were all criminals. He muttered a quiet excuse, staying civil for Kate's sake, before turning and leaving. He walked across the hallway and grabbed a beer before sitting down in the dining room with a heavy sigh.

"Don't worry about him. He gets cranky, old guys, you know." Erik joked still feeling uncomfortable. "What kind of cupcakes are you working on?" He asked trying, and failing, to diffuse the awkward tension in the air.

"I'm Caleb." Caleb said. He watched the cop guy walking away. "I know the macho types don't like me. I promise none of you are what I'm into so...There's no reason to act threatened or confused, ok?" He shouted loud enough to be heard even in the dining room.

He then turned toward the stove, "In answer to your question, Erik, I'm making cherry chocolate chip cupcakes...I bake sometimes when I don't know what to do with myself."

She laughed and wept on Kate's shoulder. This was everything she every wanted, a shoulder to cry on, a family that wouldn't hurt her or hate her, she laughed and cried tears of joy. "Thank you" she whispered. Growing tired.

Both Austin and Adrianna gasped as he moved himself slowly in and out of the mermaid's wet canal. He reached out to April and pulled her over so that she was kneeling over Adrianna's face. The mermaid didn't hesitate as she leaned forward and began to lick April's sensitive womanhood. Austin groaned in pleasure and began to speed up as he watched Adrianna pleasure April.

"May, I'm famished and this baby is losing patience with me putting lunch off any longer. You'll be safe joining us, come to lunch too. You can meet the rest of us before we have to train for landing later."

He chewed the apple slowly giving his mouth something to do besides spewing stupid questions. Erik didn't really have any experience with people like Caleb. He'd grown up in a relatively small town, and had never met someone like Caleb. He knew he was fumbling around like an idiot, but Erik didn't really know what to ask the young man.

"Okay" she smiled and opened the door, walking out with Kate and Natalie, she sat down in a chair. As something bumped into her leg, looking down she saw Cy, "What the hell how did you turn on?" She laughed. Cy rolled around seemingly looking for something. Until it found the halfed Apple in the corner. It picked it up and started to once again throw it at Eriks legs. May couldn't help but laugh. This robot almost seemed to have a mind of its own. May got up and grabbed an apple. As she wasn't much in to eating. She looked at the four in the kitchen she felt like she did at 15. Yet The older man seemed to stare at Celeb with a odd dislike.

Caleb shrugged. "I like nice people. I think I like men more than women as far as attraction goes but...I'm used to being considered unattractive to both sexes." He replied, slightly self pitying. "Hey, I'm glad you asked instead of just making mean suggestions like many men might." Caleb decided to enter the dining area when he saw his sister entering with Aziz and a pretty, young, asian woman.

"I try not to be an asshole." Erik said with an awkward shrug. He was glad to see most of the group arrive at the kitchen, giving Erik a polite way out of the conversation with Caleb. "Well look at that. Another new girl! You may have some competition soon, Natalia." Erik said smiling at the tattooed woman. "So do you have a name, or should I just call you beautiful?" Erik asked the new woman. He continued to give the woman his most charming smile, never breaking eye contact as he reached down and stuffed the apple throwing robot into a large pot.

May got up, "I'll be back im just going to go take a shower" walking through the locker room and into the ladies bathroom. We're there was a nice shower. She opens the cannot for shampoo and was surprised what she found, there were lots of men's stuff and makeup, hair die, soaps, perfumes. She smiled. She looked at her reflection in the mirror. She didn't want to look like this anymore. She wanted a new her. A fresh start. She had never been one for caring about her appearance but now it was time to change. After dying her hair, Straightening it, and showering she returned to the diner. Where she saw Cy in a pot, and the others interacting. May laughed at the sight of Cy.

Jocelyn laughed at the burly blonde guy's feeble flirtation attempts and said, "I don't mind being called Beautiful, who'd mind that? But, seeing as that pretty blonde lady hanging out with May seems to not find you as humorous as I do (and I think I'd like to stay on her good side) I'll accept being called Jocelyn. Joce for short. Caleb is my baby brother."

The group assembled gave an audible, "Oh!" of understanding.

Once the meeting was nearing its finish they got to discussion on preparations for the expected new colonists. Hilde was surprised to hear there may also be a new mermaid for the off coast mer community and extra cattle on the way. This news drew approving murmurs from those assembled.

Jason's father Alec, a silver fox with a face that hadn't aged a day past forty, added that the most recent communique with the ship stated the e.t.a. would be late monday morning and expected human count was eleven individuals, six women and five men and one of the women would be requiring obstetric assistance immediately.

The murmurs became much more excited at this news. Cattle, a mermaid, five men, and six women...and one was apparently pregnant already! And, one of the men was confirmed able to hear and make sense of Cousin tones! Hilde, Alec and Jason shared a knowing look. This was definitely a dream come true for their colony. They needed this payload dropped gently, all of them landed safe and sound.

Alec spoke up, "Jason, these v.i.p.'s deserve a good welcome. How are the preparations for their village coming along?"

Jason stood up and addressed the council but made sure his words could be heard by all. "The plateau has been leveled and the prototype house is almost finished. The last few fittings are going in as we speak and everything should be ready by tonight. Spaces have been cleared for another five houses as we were told and all materials have been placed out for them and all fittings are safely in the mutual barn. Fields and gardens have been plowed and set up, and pathways and lighting put in. Luckily for us we already put in a path down to the lake so the news of a new Mer will not be a problem."

He smiled at his father glad he had thought of that, but really it had been because it would be easier when they had to go fishing. Let the councilors think he had planned ahead though. "The landing area has been plowed and leveled flat and then pounded flat and gone over for any rocks. It is as safe as we can make it. The rest is up to their pilot. We have also stocked their barn with enough grain and hay for a month, but we may have to revise that if they are bringing more animals. Also in our own Village, the people have been stockpiling vegetables and foodstuffs to help get them on their feet until they can grow their own."

Jason sat down and waited to see how people reacted to his report.

Alec and the others nodded their approval and gave final thoughts before the meeting's closing statements.

One, Doctor Palmer, another older woman happy to have an apprentice and see retirement on the horizon, noted, "We're ready for any eventuality, triage, First Aid, and Prenatal Services shall be at the site and prepped to move fast on Monday. May I also add how refreshing it will be to have another doctor among us."

Hilde stood once the meeting had officially concluded and walked with slow care toward the double doors leading to Main Street, off of which was Aristotle Avenue, where she lived.

Alec smiled and shook her hand before she set off. "It's going to be a good group, Hilde. Can you feel it?" He asked, his blue eyes sparkling with excitement.

She smiled and nodded back, "I do feel it, Alec. This one will change everything."

They said their farewells and the old woman set off towards home and her angry cat. Then, Alec gestured to his son Jason from the other side of the room to join him. "Jason, come to Pat's Pub with me. I'll buy you a pint, son." He offered.

May plucked Cy out of the pot, "No. More. Apples. Got it?" Cya eyes squinted in anger, "Okeeeyyy" Cy reluctantly agreed. it rolled around the room. May started to wonder how long it would be until "Training" she heard of. May turned around in her chair to see Cy rolling towards Eriks leg with a butcher knife. May jumped up and took the knife out of its hands, and walked to her room and throwing it in. Looking over the cupcakes would be ready soon. Glad nobody had commented on her new hair. Or stared at her in disgust like they used to in school. She got out a bowl and whipping cream, etc. and started to make homemade whip cream, at the cupcakes chocolate appearance this would do great for frosting for it. And if she was good at making anything, it was whip cream. And she started to whip it.

Kate addressed everyone assembled. Really, the only people missing were Austin, April, and Adriana. "Well, it's good to see we're all awake now. I'm healed from my injuries...As you can see, they aged me by a few months...Technically, just found out I was pregnant yesterday and now I'm carrying a 22 week old foetus. But, we're not going to freak out now. We're very near to the end of this trip. Aziz, David, Erik, anyone without extra preparations to make for landing, can you all make sure the new three are brought up to speed on all that's occurred thus far? Aziz, that website you and Yuet built could be useful in this capacity. And, consult the MeRPs about missing positions and training requirements...But, all that can wait until after lunch and the pod landing simulation. Let's eat. I'm starving!" Kate concluded with a smile, happy to finally tuck in to the burger she'd been craving since coming out of surgery.

Everyone buzzed around the kitchen and dining area, munching, talking, making things, busy and full of the excited undercurrent of possibility. Deep down none of them knew what awaited them but they were beginning to sense they'd be alright no matter what happened if they stuck together and helped each other.

Kate smiled at David and squeezed his hand lovingly. This was her crew and her new family, in a sense. She could honestly never recall feeling she belonged anywhere more than with this unusual mix of travellers. It was an honor to be their Commander.

As May talked with Natalie on making whipcream, she realized she didn't feel empty. After frosting the cupcakes she decide to try one and she loved it. The flavor and the thick whip cream combined made it great. Just as everyone was finishing up, a MeRP came in, telling them it was time for "landing pod simulation" although she didn't know exactly where to go.

Although Jason wanted to get back to his farm he decided to indulge his dad. He didn't drink all that much, he was usually too busy, but he supposed a pint with the old man wouldn't hurt.He followed him out of the building and then down the street to the Pub.

Pat's was one of the oldest pubs in central and in fact one of the oldest buildings as well. It probably said something about the early colonists that one of the first buildings they had constructed was a fully functional brewery and distillery but on a harsh new world they had probably needed a way to enjoy themselves and blow off steam.

Pats was now one of the towns main meeting places and had a restaurant and a private meeting hall upstairs, but it was the front bar that they headed to. This was where all the drinking got done by the serious drinkers and where people mixed to swap stories. His dad ordered two pints of the famous Pat's strong ale and they found a quiet corner to talk.

"So dad what is on your mind? You didn't drag me in here just to celebrate although I am sure we are doing that. I know that look in your eye and it usually means you want me to do something. I am not going to be able to go back to peacefully running my farm am I," he sighed as he took a long drink from his ale. "I figured as much when I heard how many were landing. Okay what do you and the council want me to do?"

Erik grabbed a cupcake from the tray and took a bite. He gave a satisfied groan as he chewed the delicious treat. "These are amazing guys! I wish they'd thawed you out earlier." Erik joked. He finished the cupcake as Kate spoke and everyone began to eat. Erik grabbed a handful of fries from Natalia's plate before announcing that he'd go and find the missing three.

Erik checked April and Austin's room first, going around to all of their usual hangouts until he found himself at the lake. He suppressed a laugh when he saw Austin, April, and Adrianna all tangled up in a pile of limbs. Erik stuck his fingers in his mouth and gave a loud wolf-whistle before shouting, "Hey love birds! We've got to start training soon! Get your pants on and get to the kitchen. If you're not there in ten minutes I'm coming back!" Erik left when he saw Austin flip him off. Erik was sure April would get the group to the kitchen in time.

May saw Erik leave then return with the news of the other three. Where she heard about a literal mermaid. And a guy named Austin and April. she walked up to the MeRP. "Where do I go for the lading simulation?" The MeRP replied, "You go into the simulation." It hovered off. "Okay then" she said. Walking back into the diner, "I guess I'll just follow you guys in 15 minutes." She said aloud.
